-8nsj you have to realize that your dad lasted 30 years because before O'reilly became CEO it was enjoyable to work at Chevron. At that time Chevron was a people oriented company. I, and I am sure your dad too, felt like a valued part of the company's success. After O'reilly arrived in 1999, Chevron started moving into work processes so I guess anyone could do it. That is when it became a real burden to work at Chevron. As others have described, this process driven business model has only increased since then. This is what has taken the enjoyment out of working at Chevron in my opinion. And in my view the success of the company and its projects has not followed.

If you quit, you don't get any bonus. If you got laid off, it's another matter.

-8nsj, I got laid off in mid 2015. Back then, it was the company policy for an employee to be on the payroll at least 1 quarter to be able to get a prorated share of the CIP bonus. I'm not sure if anything has changed since then. I doubt it.

I did not get ROM'd, I quit in September of 2016. Just got off the phone with the HR Business partner. She told me that because I did not work until February 28, 2017 that I did not get the CIP bonus. Once again Chevron has found a way to screw their employees. I think it was a waste of 8 years with this pathetic company. Not sure how my dad lasted 30 years.

That sure svcks @3shq. Now you need to file a California state tax return in 2018 to get a refund of the withheld taxes. I guess by the time you get it back, the price of beer would have gone up.

I got ROM'd in April 2016 (on payroll through June 2016). My pro-rated bonus was in my mailbox yesterday. Interestingly, my gross bonus was EXACTLY $X000.00. I find it very hard to believe the math worked out that perfectly, so I'm guessing Chevron rounded. Hopefully it was up, but I'll have to check my paystubs from last year to confirm. I was also frustrated to see california state income tax withheld on it. I moved out of state last year, so now i'll have to file a state income tax return in 2018 for 2017 just to get the withholdings from my bonus back...

@2ifg, The day they take 100% out of your bonus check, does a point still need to be made? The point, lame brain, is 25% is too high already.

Looking at my online bank statement I am receiving my CIP payment today. I assume that I will receive a statement on how they figured it exactly?

They always take a high tax rate out of bonus payments. What's your point?

Did you notice the 25% Federal tax withholding on the bonus amount? You can thank Uncle Sam for that one.

Jesus, look at the intelligence on these boards. Bonsus? Not knowing that it falls on the March 7th pay cycle every single year without fail. Drink addiction questions on a layoff board? Ridiculing people for getting laid off??! school yard name calling! What is happening to this company? How far can we actually fall with the IQs on display on these boards.

@1ibc, please stay on point. OP needs to know about his or her bonsus.

The CIP bonus has always been paid on the March 7 paycheck. Only if the 7th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the paycheck will be paid on the Friday before the weekend. This year, the 7th falls on Tuesday and that's when the bonus will be paid. For those who were laid off in 2016, the bonus check will be dated March 7 and placed in the US Mail that same day, so allow a few extra days for it to arrive in your mailbox.
