March 8th is the date I speak in condition of anonymity I am a manager in NYC I was asked to have my list revisited and updated by the end of this month.
While it's still a rumor because nothing has happened yet.

The March 8 layoff is real folks. Leadership at the top has tried to change direction and failed.

I couldn't agree with you more... 5 years ago or earlier. Now, I can only imagine you either haven't been with Netapp for that long and missed all the transformations, which I doubt, because in that case you couldn't care less about this forum or you are one of Netapp trolls screening these lists.
Oh I have my "age" list when I was let go and netapp does NOT age discriminate. My whole team was axed. 21 - 64. About 40 of us and the majority was 30 below. Just depends on group and team.
From the list NetApp gave me last year when I was laid off ... it was predominantly (approx 80%) 50+ year old employees.
No idea, but I wouldn't be surprised. Probably true.
There is hope. If you actually do your job well, you should be okay. Traditionally, the first to fall are the weak. Netapp doesn't lay off talent lightly...the list is made and some are near the bottom, while others are on top. Everyone knows those who add value and those who just show up to get their paycheck. Don't think its about earning more money too...whether to cut someone making 100k or 110k is moot...depends if they are worth it. If you're scared, there's probably a reason or you think you're entitled for liberal reasons. Nonetheless, off with your head!

i agree, NTAP monitors this site, what person especially a mgr, would be so stupid to post especially with their location. i believe they will lay off again, but this kind of stuff is bs. even if you do get let go, i did best thing that happened to me. easy to find new job and a lot more money. not to mention having the threat of being let go every 6 months. never happier.
I see my manager, and others showing up early. Admin as well. Not good
