I thought it was "uuueeer fired!"
The author probably wrote "...and your donkey is fired," which would have been correct grammar, and the automatic censor removed the 3-letter synonym for "donkey" which was in the original post. So, no harm no fault.
Meanwhile the program coordinator, financial aid, human resource, dean, president, and executives are worried about the bottom line and start off looking for ways to find a good excuse to gain more money!
An educator is worried about grammar and employment opportunities for students.
It's funny that the "smart" folks are worried about grammar and sentence structure, but not the students or their jobs.

3rrd, they are probably not going to come on here and tell you what your fate is. Think about the people before you who were laid off or fired. It is not a gentle, kind process. Some of the posts on here mention being blind sided, betrayed, which tells you how deeply in denial people can be. There's enough evidence here and elsewhere to suggest this corporation is in big trouble and when that's the case, nobody's safe.
I believe these programs will be put on notice and given a certain time frame to improve their numbers. I also believe they have some workaround strategies.
@LgcLVkJ-3rrd I "almost" believed that you were a student with that line, but just to be clear there is no way an insider would post company sensitive information without getting fired. Of course if there was a considerate person who is going to be fired anyway.... Well I'm pretty sure other people who already saw the signs are 5 steps ahead of you to bail out, so believe what you want.
The students are studying in areas that don't have an abundance of jobs. If they were smart enough to do their research they would know. Most only hear what they want to hear. They are being told constantly about the competition they face.
I'm not in denial. Just wish that the people who sits in all those conference calls day in day out will just post on here and just let it out. I'm not staying on the side lines waiting for the doors to close but a lot of people have lives outside EDMC that will effect them tremendously. So if you work for EDMC and know our fate, please be considerate and have a heart and just let us know already.
@LgcLVkJ-3jga don't bother reasoning with @LgcLVkJ-3wde a similar person who was raising concerns at the online division discussion was also in denial. So the only way to actually convince him is to straight up talk to him in person and fire him.
It's true that Trump may be planning to let for profits like EDMC slide however, the numbers are out there now. Employees can no longer say "I didn't know, I believed what I was told by management." Get out before you get burned.

These numbers are from 4 years ago. It is much worse now. Most schools can't get to 50 % employed. They keep pushing s-xy programs like Game Art and Animation where there are no jobs for the quality of students they are graduating. Recruiting students from sectors that alteady have their challenges has taken a toll. Trump will let them slide so I doubt they will close. He is all about the rich people staying richer. My guess is he has some back deal with KKR

Answer: the failing programs will be required to go into teachout by the DOE. With so many failing programs, i.e. with so many programs in teach out, EDMC will have to get very creative to stay open. I'd get the heck out of there if I were you. The job market is very good right now and you can get hired with EDMC on your resume.
@LgcLVkJ-2jpf you forgot the major reason why those kinds of people have that mindset: For their own interests. Those reasons you stated is nothing more than a disposable shield that those guys won't admit until they're fired.

Closing? Why should I believe you? Why not talke the necessary plans to improve the outcomes? Do you even work for EDMC to respond to my questions? I asked for honest people who has first hand knowledge for answers. Not answers from some unemployed executive or ADA.

Seriously, can someone who is knowledgeable explain all this. Are we closing? Phasing out those programs? Honest and respectable responses please.
So now we know unequivocally that most people who enroll don't graduate (see senate investigation) and those who do cannot afford to repay their loans in the majority of cases (see gainful employment numbers). So now can we put to rest the story about helping students and being in it for student success and accept the reality that these colleges are being systematically stripped for cash? The most disheartening thing for me isn't that a bunch of corporate predators figured out a way to get their hands on to a load of federal cash but the fact I believed their story and repeated it and people were hurt. I haven't worked in for profit for quite some time now but can almost guarantee the propaganda campaign remains in full swing. We're headed in a new direction, the restructuring will set us up for success so we can continue to provide quality education to an under serviced population. Sound familiar? Look at the numbers. The numbers tell the truth.
