Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

DXC.technology ... that's the new HPE CSC Company name.

The email went out to HPE staff about an hour ago. The email is very long and full of buzz words to get us geeked up (insert eye roll). What the announcement lacks is what the heck does DXC stand for? Did they just pick any three letters?? Why is the T in technology lower case... so many questions ..

not quite . . . but almost as stupid as the millions spent on the big green square. does not even sound like a services company. It is what EDS used to be . . . still own that name . . . that would have been a better choice since you bought EDS, completely destroyed it, and are now attempting to rebuild it. round and round

So they throw away years of built up brand equity in both HP and CSC.

That has to be the stupidest ... oops scratch that... the stupid meter was maxed when millions was spent by HPE to get a green rectangle mimicking Enterprise Rent a Car

Clearly, they are fans of MXC - Most eXtreme elimination Challenge!

Dystopian eXtreme Elimination (of US and Euro workers) Challenge! GIT IT ON!

Workers will compete to keep their jobs, with obstacles like Log Drop, Wall Bangers, Sinkers and Floaters... while Meg and board members watch and be entertained by the wipeouts and spills of employees attempting to keep from receiving a WFR notice.

Good luck, and DON'T. GET. ELIMINATED!

They put the X in there so that we can't make up any hilarious or cynical meanings. Unless you can think of one using X-Ray.

"Not that bad"

A ringing endorsement!!!!

I wouldn't worry, it won't exist in 5 years from now except as a front into Europe and North America for a Chinese or Indian giant.

Come on guys.. its really not that bad, nor is it really something to get over excited about.. I guess in the southern region, the name is not all that different from the UXC brand .. although from a few little searches there may be a few small companies / groups who suddenly have found their name being gobbled up by the monolith..

The format for this non-descript name is already 20 years out of date.

What next? Compulsory wvhite socks and shoulder pads .

I think it's interesting that HPE employees that were moved into the newco are banned from applying to jobs at HPE for 1 year. Even if someone quits, they will be banned from applying for jobs at HPE. The NewCo CEO states it is to prevent "brain drain" but that is a load of hogwash because he has a serious hard-on for outsourcing to India and has conducted several interviews with India based magazines and newspapers where he has clearly and brazenly indicated his plans are to eliminate positions in high cost countries (such as US, & Eastern EU) and replace them with low cost employees in India, China, Malaysia, etc... He said 10's of thousands of jobs.

The question is: Is there really a hell? Because if there were, this man would fear for his soul. It is one thing to lay people off, but to limit their options to find another job? To support themselves? This is the same as treating people like slaves. "No, you can't leave. I want you knowledge so I can s--- it dry. Force you to train your replacement. Then, I will fire you with no remorse and I don't give a rat's a-- what happens to you afterwards. Oh, btw... my million $$$ salary tastes scrumptious soaked with your tears".

This is a horrible company. Nearly as horrible as it is to be a US based employee. At least other countries that may be affected care about their constituents and have labor laws in place to somewhat protect them from financial catastrophe.

Its a load of crap. Am assuming that its a reference to Digital and Change with the rubbish from lawrie about the X being a force multiplier. I have never seen so boring individuals as these two in the video published online . A sign of the times. No wonder CSC was in trouble with a marketing guy like Gary in the video. A quick search of the internet shows DXC as Digital Connect, a telecom / networking term. There is also a company in the Uk called DigitalMedia who use DXCTechnology as part of its brand and its websites. Interesting. Wonder if there will be a legal case.
