When I sent some paper work to Chevron HR service PO box via certified mail, the tracking status says delivered to Agent, anyone know what that means ?

I was a full-time employee for 26 years and I submitted my SS earnings statement before sending in my pension commencement papers. In my case, I saw a 6.5% increase in my lump sum amount. I noticed a similar % increase in the annuity calculation as well. I checked the Retirement Estimator section of the Benefits Connections website everyday since my US Priority Mail envelope was delivered to the Chevron HRSC. I noticed the change in the pension calculation within 7-10 days of them getting my SS earnings statement. The website and the HRSC reps will state it takes up to 30 days, but in my case it was pretty fast. Once Chevron pays out your pension, you will lose access to the Retirement Estimator site, so if you're interested in keeping a copy of the final calculations, check the site everyday and print yourself a copy right away.

-7qjq is that the general understanding? That the breakpoint is about 25 years of service for the actual SS earnings to make a difference in the pension calculation?

Can you really see the revised numbers based on your social security earnings within 4 to 10 days ?, I thought you need to wait at least a month or more. Maybe the process is now much quicker than was the norm

@7omp, I hope the increase you get is better than you anticipate. Please post your results here once you know. It will serve as validation for everyone else who is waiting to commence their pension. I'm sure submitting the SS earnings statement will help the majority of retirees will 25 years or less increase their pension benefit amounts.

@1odw, If you submit your Social Security earnings statement to the Chevron HRSC, you will not receive a restated pension calculation back. What you can do, though, is to print a new pension benefits statement from the Benefits Connection website as soon after they receive your SS earnings statement and compare the newly calculated results to the figures shown in the packet of information you were originally send to commence your pension. Be sure to allow the necessary time for Chevron to process your actual earnings and recalculate your pension benefit. This process takes between 4 and 10 days. You may need to check your Benefits Connection webpage everyday until you see the change. Print the updated results for your records, since soon after your pension is paid, the page will be erased.

If you include your social security statement along with your pension paperwork, does Chevron send you a letter with the new numbers or do you have to just wait till they deposit it in your account

OP, the status "Delivered to Agent" indicates it had been received. Chevron uses a third party agent to collect their mail at the Post Office box. Rest assured your mail will be processed into the Chevron HRSC within 24 to 48 hours. I also sent my paperwork in by US Priority Mail and remember seeing the same status on delivery.

It means it's been delivered. They've received it.
