IMHO - This is GOLD and worth a bump - @yjc you are my hero, so well put:
They are flat out lying.
The fact is that it got leaked before they finished planning the move and are now dealing with global offices in panic in a low information environment.
They are unwilling to announce, they wanted it under the radar to avoid attention from the incoming administration.
Oracle relies HEAVILY on government contracts right now, both direct and indirect, and an announcement of this magnitude WILL attract significant attention.
The media does not care about specifics, all that matters is this headline:
Oracle firing X,000 American engineers and hiring Indians and keeping H1bs. A few interviews with engineers saying they were never considered for those other positions despite having the skillset.
It's a great opportunity to point out the L1 visa abuse, the H1b visa abuse, the way that fake schools are being used to bypass the limits and regulations.
So in summary, yes, Oracle is lying.

@znl dems don't actually care about any of this unless they are getting money from it. laid off workers means more on government assistance and dem programs. which means more gov positions to fill with their buddies and more power. They always just fear monger about the GOP "taking it away", ignoring what caused it in the first place.
If you want attention, reach out to the Trump admin, dems are powerless now even if they wanted to pretend to care (they dont)

Oracle is the worst company To employees i have ever heard of yet the ways employees defend the company amazes me. It's the cult of LE. So sad to see people treated so poorly.
Even if this is hoax it still doesn't change the fact that hw hasn't made any money since Oracle took it over. Double digit losses last quarter. Unless hw made an incredible turn around this quarter, reorgs are still going to happen.
