Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Per The Register: We’re aware of rumours about the demise of Solaris.

Our best efforts have not been able to verify the rumours. Oracle has denied it. A user tells us Solaris will be moved to maintenance mode and resources moved to Linux. That’s not quite enough for us to do a story. One of our sources is personally familiar with the dev Solaris team. If you know more, feel free to let us know news@theregister.co.uk

If you are not working on something to do with the Cloud at Oracle, your job is in jeopardy. Get on a cloud team or get out why you still can.

You may want to take a broader view and talk to your contacts at oracle about layoffs in general, as per other threads they appear to have been going on in small batches for the last 6 months or so, under the radar, that may be a story in andnof itself.
