Gotta realize where you do business. The Aussies are skilled at delaying work and finding ways to make projects drag on for years. Let the buyer beware.

-1vll: Gorgon won't produce at the 15 MTA capacity until 2019 or 2020. Poor design of the propane system will be a very expensive and multi-year repair. Expect low output in summer months and rarely hitting design capacity even in winter.

These issues were all identified by Cvx process engineers before the plant was started up. Problem was the integrated team had chevron staff reporting to kbr managers who told them to FCK off when they identified the problems and compressed schedule did not allow implementation of problems identified by Cvx process engineers. I.e. Start up screens on mr compressors. Final hazops were also not conducted in similar fashion. These process engineers and operations staff who were very smart engineers left the company and joined other organizations that recognized their talents. What is left is a dogs breakfast at gorgon that will take many years to debug.

Last reported cost of this black hole was what...56 billion? Any updates on the total spent (and we can leave out the failures/shut downs/delays with start up). What a complete management failure.

Like I've said before, the decision makers, engineers and designers as well as team leaders on these failed Australian MCP's should all. E does without a severance package. Pitiful and it keeps happening. No good news.
Ramp to plateau going slow. Process problems will take months to debug. Once KBR and APCI leave the site in late 2017, only chevron engineers left to solve the problems. I don't expect capacity production from all 3 trains until late 2018. Wheatstone will face similar difficulties.
