Change anybody sum up the changes to the Health Insurance Retirement Plan. I do understand the health exchange part, but not sure about the timeline when you can sign up...

@cudm, the points you have does help reduce the medical premium. Your 94% is pretty good. But no matter if you have 100% Chevron medical contribution, as a pre-65 retiree, the contribution amount will not diminish the extra high premium you'd still have to pay. When you reach 65 years old, the 100% chevron contribution will only amount to around $96 total. Sounds like a little bit, but that's all 100% is worth this year. However, the actual premiums for post-65 retirees is much lower, do the $96 monthly contribution is helpful.
Bsjd: so what is the answer?
Bgcn, thanks for the reply. How many points do you have for company contribution ? This will affect the premium. I have 94%.
Thanks
Thanks bgcn, that's helpful info. Any pre-65 retirees, Kaiser Northern California? How much are those premiums? Thanks.
bdjd, since you are a pre-65 retiree, your Chevron retiree medical premiums will be much higher than for post-65 retirees. The big different is at age 65 and beyond, you will be enrolled in Medicare Advantage, which lowers the private side of the medical plan tremendously. I'm a pre-65 Chevron retiree living in Houston. I received my open enrollment letter in the mail this week. The monthly premium for the Chevron HMO plan for retiree and spouse is $2300. The Chevron PPO is $1300 and the other two High Deductible Plans were around $950 and $925. No, my friend. I will forego the Chevron open enrollment this year. I will enroll only in the Chevron post-65 medical in another 5 years, if it's still offered. For now, Obamacare is my preferred choice.
As an under 65 retiree wanting CVX retiree healthcare, currently on subsidized cobra until December, do I do open enrollment or call HR during December to select the CVX plan going forward? I'm sure of the answer but think the answer would be good for other early retirees.
Towers Watson’s OneExchange customer service, licensed benefit advisors, and comprehensive knowledge of the Medicare market combine to make OneExchange the trusted advisor for hundreds of thousands of retirees. Take a look at the plans and premiums for Post-65 retirees at the official site:

My patent, living in New Orleans, has a few HMO medical and prescription drug plans to choose from where the premium is ZERO. There are a few PPO Plans that don't hold over $137 per month.
Check your area for plans and costs.
Cost details won't come out until open enrollment starts on Oct 17th
Chevron will not be handling health or dental insurance plans anymore after 2016. Starting with this open enrollment period in October, both pre-65 and post-65 active employees and retirees will be dealing with a third party company; Towers Watson. They are probably the largest company of its kind in the US. Everyone should have received a 56-page brochure from Chevron on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. You should also be able to get the PDF version of this booklet and other info on the Benefits Connection website. For those who already separated from Chevron, you should be able to get to the Benefits Connection through the external website at hr2.chevron.com/retiree. If still with questions, call the Chevron HRSC at 1-888-TALK2HR or wait for Towers Watson to mail you the next steps to take.
And I am under 65. Thanks.
Thinking of retiring next year and am trying to figure out insurance options. Currently have Kaiser for Northern CA (family). Any retiree here have the same coverage? Would you mind sharing what the monthly premium is? I have enough points for 100% contribution from Chevron. I've checked the benefits website and I can only find active employee info. Thanks much for any info and advice.
OP, Go to CVX's Benefits Connection. All info is there. It depends on it you are over 65 or not.
Open Enrollment is coming up soon this month of October. We received the brochure explaining the changes, but the actual plans with premiums will be sent out soon, hopefully by this or next week.
