Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

SECRET (they're here)

IF YOU'RE READING THIS POST THEN YOU'RE RIGHTFULLY CONCERNED FOR YOUR JOB:

You are on this open forum called "layoffs" because you know that the only way to get the real insider information is usually on this forum. Yes, the information on here is not always 100% accurate but you still come back because there is more truth on this forum then the silence coming from "Upper Management."

Speaking of management, we can all agree that most (IF NOT ALL) are fully incompetent. You may disagree if: you are one of them or want to be one of them; they have dirt on you (sexually); you were brought on because you live in the same neighborhood as them (favoritism); went to school with them or are somehow related to them (nepotism). Essentially you are complicit in drinking the cool-aid to have a job if you disagree that management has failed. If you disagree that management has destroyed the University (and the lives of both employees and student's) then you lack moral fiber and intellect.

Most of you will lose your job VERY SOON, and NOT ON YOUR TERMS.

Sorry.

I wish I could tell you that you were all getting raises soon. I wish I could tell you that those of you who have been loyal to this company were going to get promoted soon. I wish I could tell you that your supervisor cared about you. I wish I could tell you that the systems were fixed today and they will alleviate your stressful day. I wish I could tell you that Apollo Global cared about you and your family and were going to make the University flourish like it once did.

Sorry, but most will lose their job. (you'll be getting the mass email soon)

Look up onto the floor. You see those people over there clicking away at their computers. Yeah them. They will very likely be gone soon. Look around, most will be gone. Ok, how about that Manager sitting over there. Yup, gone. And that Director pretending to work, definitely gone! What I'm talking about is the beginning of the end. But you already knew that. What you didn't know is how soon it will happen. Let me tell you that it pains me to say, but it will be very soon. They are drafting the email now and running it through legal. It will not be like the last voluntary severance where you were coddled and walked through the process gently. No. This will be brutal. The fierce talons of vulture capitalist will rip out the dry rot (you) so quickly that it will make the news.

What you may not have realized is the group of "Consultants" visiting from New York are already here. And by consultants I mean Apollo Global who is licking their chops to devour the wounded and take their spoils. It's easy to tell who they are, just look for those in suits. It's a trendy thing to do when you're in New York to be in a power suit, so they will be easy for you to identify. They will also have their travel gear with them. What I'm saying is that they are here now. JUST A FEW FORMALITIES BEFORE THEIR BIG PAYDAY. Layoffs are at the door and will soon be knocking. And when they knock you must answer.

I'm sorry, I really am.

I know it may be hard for some of you to come to grips that you will not have a job. It will be hard for some of you to have to start all over. You may feel like you wasted years of your life in a dead-end job for nothing. Yes, there are some of you who have be riding this out to the bitter end because you want to get fired. Some truly dense people even think there is still hope for promotion (please get professional help).

The semi-false rumor going around: we will keep our pay for at least a year. This is laughable! If only 1 in 10 are keeping their jobs then this false-hope-rumor means nothing. Don't be fooled. This rumor was crafted at a Manager meeting as a speaking point to calm the masses. The only truth that you will get from your manager is that they knew this long before you did and have been building up their savings for the final day.

So what can you do about it?

  1. Don't accept the silence coming from management.

  2. Demand information that directly effects your income.

  3. Don't wait until it's too late to get your ducks in orders.

  4. Don't trust any information given by your supervisor on face value, dig deeper.

  5. Know that Human Resources will not protect you, they are here to protect the company.

  6. Record every conversation with your Manager, written or recorded.

  7. Report any unethical behavior which will rise as some will try to get fired.

  8. Stop keeping secrets to save your job, you have nothing to lose.

  9. Speak up, you have nothing to lose anymore.

  10. Don't be the victim, remember the vultures have arrived and they are hungry!

  11. Report unethical behavior to your local News and Congressman.

  12. DON'T KEEP ANY SECRETS, USE THIS FORUM TO EXPOSE ALL!!

So what happens next?

You will be ripped of your job very soon.

One last secret: the inadequate systems were planned. Yes, the failed pilots, failed roll-outs, failed systems were all planned. Why you may ask; it's called "CONSTRUCTIVE DISCHARGE" and allows a company to reduce the work force through unethically creating such a psychologically abusive environments that employees leave on their own. Those meetings to help improve the university and discuss pain points, were used to identify were to emphasize pain points. I think we all know who is in charge of the this. Yes, they are in on it. But why would a company purposely self-destruct?

The answer: $40,000.00 MONTHLY SALARIES. MONEY, HORDES OF MONEY. ILL-GOT GAIN. BRIBES. HUGE PAY DAYS. GOLDEN PARACHUTES. BUYING AT DISCOUNT AND LIQUIDATING ASSETS!

How many of UOP's Plan B's have worked out over lets say the last 3 to 5 years? If they had we would not be in these moments. Plan B .....hell UOP must be on Plan F by now. They've been pulling rabbits out of their hats for about 5 years now. Internal scholarships, grants, discounts, new classroom formats, MOUs galore, new computer systems, reorganization, reorganization, workplace partnerships, new college format, etc, etc, etc.

I left months ago. Best decision ever. Interview now. Get your ducks in a row. You can turn down jobs but don't get caught with your pants around your ankles.

Sounds like little Ms. Bollux is rattling off the standard "you are fine" crap that Management says right before they fire you. Get ready folks.

@Iu4M22R-phk

How do they keep "most" when new degreed and degreed enrollment have dropped 30-40% over the last year?? The math just doesn't work unless your idea of "most" is half.

Biggest bunch of bollux ever posted on this site, and that is saying a lot. I won't bother going line-by-line and refuting these false assertions. Yes more people will be losing their jobs, but not like you would imagine. Most of the rest will still be employed. Have a plan B, but what this poster has written is demonstrably false. Do not worry if you just read this and became nervous. You are fine.
