ABU had been a cluster for several years now. I doubt Nigel will be able to do more than spin it like things are getting better. Tell me when the 10th load has been made. What are we on? Number 3?

@1qil, What do you value a man's life at? What about only a severed limb or partial paralysis from a fall? We don't need a person like Hearn or you putting production before safety at ABU or anywhere else.

1mur: we are 60 odd billion in the hole

Bottled water is more expensive than LNG

The ABU is over staffed. IF it were my show i would focus on delivery of product too. These have been operational focas items before Hearn arrived in Perth.

@1vzi, Only if your cat has a social security number and is shown as a dependent on your 1040 federal tax return. Otherwise you cannot be on paid pet bereavement leave. I know, the rules always seem to ruin our best laid plans.

When Roy was here it was all about safe productivity........but with the new boss, Nigel, it is obvious that you better get production at all cost. It is never overtly or in front of a group. But meet with the guy and he makes it clear.....produce with no excuses (F risk managemen, just do it)........He has already implemented a new measurement system. There is no more bench marking to other similar projects. It is now some confusing inside non specific goals we measure. Nigel has already claimed success with his new system. We are meeting every fake goal he has set. He is a joke.

If my cat dies the week of the layoffs and I am on pet bereavement leave, does that mean I'm safe?

BCG benchmark is 1100 people needed to run 4 LNG trains. With 5 trains in Australia, CVX needs to get down to under 1500. Once trains are complete in late 2018, you can expect mass layoffs.

Lay offs continue to happen however they are trying to avoid mass lay offs given the hype they create in the media and the stress they create the office. So, yes, each week people are let go. PGPA, HES and other support groups are the focus.
