The president at my campus surrounded herself with "yes mam" people. They spent most of their time in worthless meetings. These EC members got what they deserved. The ones that are coming back will always be a joke to everyone. The president...well...her time will come

LOL! Love the first reply. We should all feel sorry for the poor EC members who were blindsided by layoffs and short notices. Classic. Everyone else has been subjected to this for years and asked by the EC members to look at the bright side and make it work. Poor wittle EC members. I bet any EC left just get a bigger bonus. What a clueless, but ruthless group of nitwits.

adding to @I7VnTNp-suo's statement: If any faulty dare says they're in it for the students, we can clearly see that you guys would try to set students as scapegoats when things goes ground zero.

DeVry University uses this same cost savings tactic. They eliminate the positions, tweak the responsibilities oh so slightly and then rename the position as something else. I cannot believe what goes on in this sector is allowed. So scummy!

I can't believe you'd go back to work for them for less pay. After every evil they've committed you'd still go back to them FOR LESS. Clearly you don't value yourselves enough to aim higher than that worthless entity. I can't even think of it as a college anymore, it certainly isn't teaching anyone anything that could be remotely considered higher education. Just take note that if you do go back and you've already applied for unemployment, if EDMC lays you off AGAIN you won't qualify for unemployment a second time. So dwell on that fact before you go crawling back.

I think offers are starting today, tomorrow and Thursday. Anyone else think it's really fishy that they want everyone re-hired who is coming back by June 30th? That would REALLY suck to sign your re-hire paperwork and then we get another bombshell announcement on the 30th announcing we are going into full teach-outs or closing entirely. I would wait until next week to sign anything, but then they might say deal is off the table....tough position to be in but I wouldn't gamble with my severance if I were those people.

Shame on EDMC for treating some of their most loyal employees this way. Letting EC members go without any notice, then giving them double the work and forcing them to take the job within a week or they can't be guaranteed the position....extremely shady practices
