My gig there was a 30 year run. Last week a HR rep informed me of a position in SSGA. It was a first line manager position (title I had before my release)and after HR sent job description I informed HR it was a good fit. On 3-17 a resume was sent and on 3-21 hiring manager informed HR he had no interest in me. Position has been open since 12-18 and the hiring manager is being this fussy? If they do not want me good luck trying to find the perfect person

Sounds like #AgeDiscrimination to me bro @Gw6xSWZ
@Moe companies know they have thousands of workers to chose from, and pay the lowest wage.
There was a time you would actually go in person and speak to a human being for a job
interview. Now the trend is an interview with Skype or a Phone interview.
If you pass you may actually be invited in to speak to Human 1 then hopefully to Human 2
The worst thing are the drone interviewers who have no idea about the job and just read
from a script of questions .
MOE, for the last 15 years State Street has been laying off people, outsourcing people and bring in
hundreds of part time and full time temps. There was no way they were going to give a position
to somebody who has been there 30 years. Even though your probably and excellent worker and
a good match, your also too expensive.
Its funny how companies want people like you but want to pay 40% less .
To be honest I have no idea how you have been able to keep your job once you hit 30 years of
service
I'm Ok with them saying no. Last summer, I interviewed for a contract job there. When I arrived, the staffing agency called. The agency informed me that SS wanted to postpone the interview by two hours. Trying to kill time is the South Boston area for 2 hours was a challenge. When I interviewed, I was waiting to hear from one the individuals I interviewed with either a i'm sorry to keep you waiting or thank you for hanging around.Did that happen? Nope! Gone are the days of manners for interviewing contract workers I do not have the hiring manager name for today's rejection. Age discrimination is hard to prove in today's world. I have been gone since 2012. Something better will come along.
Get your HR file or review your documents you signed, if you signed the same papers I did there is an 'At Will' statement that reads they can terminate for 'Any reason or none'.
I agree with you anonymous about age discrimination. I hadn't really thought of it but Moe definitely has a good case for age discrimination.
You have some great documentation for age discrimination. You are a perfect match. What is the hiring manager's name?
Moe, I am very surprised to read your post. If they need someone it sounds like you would be a good fit for this position. As a former State Street employee I also would consider interviewing for another position at State Street as I have been submitted and interviewed for several open positions.
