Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

What a smart game 1=100*N

Lay off hundreds (N*100) to save several millions and then hire one single unqualified doughter of Chineses member of government and pay the same several millions to settle SEC charges as it violated anti-bribery

Well, why don't you just suggest to upper management to pull out of China completely. You would be solving two problems. 1) no more dealing with China. 2) you would get that 50%+ layoff once business craters to the floor.

Yes, it is, and so is the "Sexual Harassment" and "Hostile Work Environment" trainings. The purpose of these trainings is that if they decide to make an employee the scapegoat for what they have done, the employee could not claim in a court that he/she wasn't informed about the law and HR and Qualcomm are at fault for not providing the training.

This is a small price for Q to pay for securing a business deal in China. Qualcomm does not produce high-margin innovative products any more because it has become a snake pit and an Asian-style sweatshop. Now they have to rely on selling large volume, low-margin products and use these illegal tactics to secure them.
