@3slo, correct. Just answer "no". The TWC is only interested to know if you received wages (i.e. part-time or full-time pay from a job, tips, etc). There's no need to report the bonus. I hope you are successful in finding a job soon. But for now, enjoy your well deserved bonus and make good use of your unemployment benefits.

So when you're filing for that week (with Texas Workforce Commission) and it asks you if you received any payments you just say no?

Only wages are reportable to the TWC, not one-time bonus or severance payments.

No. There's no need to report the CIP bonus to the Texas Workforce Commission for unemployment benefit purposes. Just like the severance had no bearing on you qualifying for benefits, neither does this one-time bonus payment.

Im in Texas, do you have to report this to the Workforce Commission if you're collecting unemployment benefits?

The check was sent via US Mail. No need to sign for it.

How was the check mailed? Do we need to sign for it?

Houston here, mine showed up via US Postal in the mailbox yesterday (Mar 5). It is bad that we got laid off, but I've been laid off by a few different companies in my career, and Chevron has taken care of me the best, in terms of financials. Most companies just call you into the meeting room and inform you it is your last day.

Unless you already found a new job, @2oez, don't forget to collect State unemployment benefits. Put that in the bank too.

I received mine today, March 5, by US Mail. Check is dated for Monday, March 7. The net amount matched my calculations within the closest dollar. Sweet. Thanks, Chevron. Goodbye forever!!!!

You probably had direct deposit set up to continue after your last day of employment

For those of us who did not we probably have to wait till next week, hope they send it by FEDEX

Payment is on March 7. Direct deposit for active employees and check sent in the US Mail for ex-employees.

Payments are the 7th, not the 4th.
