I’m ex management who took the package and retired in 2013. I don’t envy the position that any of the Verizon worker bees, union or management, are in now.

I use to think Ivan was bad, but Lowell has taken employee abuse to a whole new level. He never pays a price for making bad mistakes on the strategic direction of the company.

This may be a real test if Verizon wants to keep the FIOS part of the business. It does provide a nice steady cash flow.

It sounds like someone is already shaking in their wingtips. You should be afraid. The risks in the field are a lot more serious than paper cuts. Don't forget, safety first!

Greedy. our proposal to you:

Highlights of the company's wireline proposal include:

  1. A 6.5 percent wage increase over the term of the contract.

  2. Access to quality and affordable healthcare benefits.

  3. Competitive retirement benefits including a 401k with a company match.

The stupidity of this is beyond my comprehension. You are all so willing to walk off the job and beat your chests like a gorilla in heat just so two weeks later you can go back to throwing feces at each other.

Giving the company one day to avoid.

The union will not strike. They are just like Obma with his lines in the sand. If they really were to strike it would have been this morning. Catch them with their pants down.. No they will not strike.

I hope my fellow managers understand that in this battle, that if the union loses, then so do we. Be safe, be courteous, don't be in a rush and don't let the company grind you down. When this is all over the company will forget what you did for it on your EWA. Bonuses next year will be lower because of your OT. Remember who the bad guys are here. They are not wearing red shirts.

Not sure what's going to happen? Strike may happen or it may not. We'll see what this week brings.

Union is not perfect.

Without an union, all our jobs go to contractors.
