I know I've put it off until the last minute, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get my W2.
I was laid off in August of last year. The website won't let me register as a new user because I don't have my pin. It also won't let me reset my password because I don't know my pin or my "secret answer." Further, I don't remember my ATTUID.
Has anyone else been successful with this?
HR at ATT is a joke. Indicative in the surplus process. The first call where they talk about protecting privacy, then midway inadvertently outing all surplus call participants. Let's not forget their standard "call hr one stop and ask". They could have just sent that request instead. Oh and lastly, getting tired of hosting the weekly calls and cancelling all subsequent Tuesday follow ups. It could be a sitcom if it wasn't more sad than funny.
A real comedy of errors. And "I can't help you with that". HR contacts handling surpluses must be that hated job you get before they surplus YOU.
I'm the OP. I did call the IRS and they got it from AT&T for me. AT&T was absolutely no help. It was kind of crazy. I had been trying to get it from AT&T for a month to no avail.

and accountable to the IRS are two different things. Fortunately I was able to get my W2 from At&T two days before the supposed date that companies have to get the W2 to you. I had to yell at several HR employees over the phone and make threats to get my W2. HR doesn't like it when I remind them that I don't work for them any longer. It was fun telling them what to do.

Actually by law AT&T is required by law to have your W2 to you by February 2, 2016. Since apparently that didn't happen you are legally allowed to contact the IRS and notify them. They probably won't do much. You can always email the person listed on your layoff letter and they should be able to get the W2 over to you.
Call Equitax and asked for a copy by fax, no enough time by mail
