Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What you guys can't see!!!!!

In the GOMBU they had to bring very high educated professionals from other states and countries because they couldn't find a local smart one whit in the city to do the job. Now, they are offering the jobs to locals that are "friends" of the managers even though they are dam as a rock, including some of the managers who did not even finished high school!!!

Is this a serious company to work for???

Talking about incompetent managers and employees (including managers/employees who did not even finish high school): check out EMC (environmental management company).

@GPDI40h-1qqq, Why would you assume that the Original Post, in broken English and full of spelling errors, was written by a person with a college degree? I surely don't think that. Not that going to college is the only way to learn, but it is obvious that the OP is not only disgruntled, envious and bitter but also poorly educated. Not that he or she doesn't do a fantastic and excellent job in whatever position they hold. I am sure those restrooms at the 1400 building in Houston are simply spotless!

I worked for the GOMBU many years ago, we had people from all areas of the world but many were from Louisiana and they were damn good educated workers. I also have children who have and do still work for Chevron. They are all college educated with advance degrees and respected by their peers and co-workers for the job they do, not for who they know. They got their jobs on their own, not from anyone I knew or they knew. You're just another disgruntled worker who either can't hold his own or wants a free ride. Get over yourself and learn to earn what you have or what you want in life....You sound like someone who wants something for nothing or is just a spoiled brat....go back to where you came from if you have a problem with the GOMBU. FYI - there are many people within Chevron without college degrees who have more knowledge and ability that you will ever have...you sound really ignorant for an "educated" person.

@GPDI40h-1unt, You are right, I just came from the French Quarter fest and it was a blast. We don't harbor any resentment towards any of the other business units, unlike some of these posters. We are proud of our performance, out work ethic and are sorry to lose so many talented employees. You have to understand, it was inevitable, we had to cut some really good people, there is no choice. We also understand that many of the most talented individuals from all of the other BU's especially MCBU, had to suffer some deep cuts. We are losing our entire Lafayette office, just to let you know. So get your mud slinging in while the getting's good!!!

Oh my it's the "GOM is the bane of the Earth" Defeated suckers who aren't in the most productive and profitable business unit in CNAEP for the last 25 years? REDASSed and CHAPPED? Oh, I would be too. I would be asshurt and indignant, and all upset if I got my A$$ kicked into the dirt for so many years by a bunch of ol Louisiana stupid redneck boys who supposedly don't have any education. (Unlike Texas and CAl, who are so sophisticated, Steers and Queers). You need to criticize some more. Get it all out. Act like children. Because that's pretty much all you got and ever will have. Misbehaving anonymously on a forum on a Saturday night. In LA they are probably partying and living large, and not being bitter about other BU's or even worrying a bit about it. I almost wish I was in that unit. I would most likely be eating a Cochon de Lait Po-boy, drinking an Abita, and laughing at the suckers who are in the loser business units that have to come up with lame excuses for why they got laid off and someone else didn't. Glad I don't work with a bunch of coward back-stabbers! LOL!

Agree with the good ole boy network. I know for a fact of of a couple of "advisor" type positions where the incumbent could not successfully apply for the most remedial position in Covington. Don't know how they keep a job with no education or any qualification to hold their position. Just saying.

"Hey, the idiots that came to live and work for GOMBU can blame themselves. All of the "smart" people from the area have a brain and leave Louisiana to move on to bigger and better things. Stop cryin'".

Yeah, the "smart ones" or the more "corrupt and liars?" Still in a few years everyone is going to be gone when the office will close!

Great advertisement for the filth of south east Louisiana. Both the OP and the message behind the post. Doesn't need any more elaboration. Its GOM. Enough said.
