Heard today that HR is preparing 700 termination packages for nextcweek. I cannot confirm this.

Some managers will have the nerve, 4aiw. Others without a spine will blame it on the consensus of other managers or HR and higher-ups.
I sure wouldn't want to be one of the managers having to let people go. I'm pretty sure it would make me sick at my stomach.
700 is GOM, DW and Houston Corp, lists done since last Thursday, managers prepping for the deed. Some will be face to face, some will be on the phone, no reprieves are coming.
@GGfPqNL-2ivy: sorry to break the news to you, but you are a dead man walking! The 2- rankings were intentionally given to those of us that were pre-determined to be laid off. If you received a 2- ranking, your management chain identified you last November for termination. Good Luck!!!

Took all personal items home today, cleared P and C drive of personal data, backed up my contacts to a personal device. Turned in a transition plan to my supervisor. I think I'm ready!

I figure to be one of the 700 as I checked the EOI box. After 30.5 years, I am ready to move on. It's been a good ride but at 61, I am looking forward to the 4th Quarter of my life's journey. I am taking the rest of the year off. My best friend's wife is about to pass away after suffering a terminal illness. He got laid off last year. We are riding our Harley's up to Sturgis, Wyoming and parts unknown. Looking forward to it!
A hair under 5000 are in scope, with just under 2900 jobs posted.

2000 is impossible. Total cut is 4000 this year and there will be many from locals, e.g. Thailand (it's said there will be 1500-2000 locals cut to save 187MMUSD), also China will cut out ~100 locals. 15% of total must movers is an reasonable value

The people leaving are the lucky ones. At least you canmoveon with your life and life does exist outside of CVX. I have to wait knowing I will be let go but I do not know when.
