Judges won't let you get away with things like deliberately losing your job, losing $50K in Vegas, etc. They look at it, say it doesn't matter, say you must pay. Also unless you have a miracle it's not 50%, if you are lucky you'll get 45%. Try mediation, at least there you might save money on legal fees.
