Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Attention "dead wood" poster.

Everyone else here is tired of seeing your ignorant "dead wood" comments. Judging by your lack of grammar and spelling, it is clear that you only use "dead" and "wood" because both are 1-syllable words, and are easy for you to pronounce. Hell, we don't even use wood in the oil & gas industry. Could you at least pick a more suitable material to reference this sector? Perhaps "rusted metal", or "stuck pigs" might be more creative analogies.

We only hope that an idiot like yourself did not ever work as Chevron staff, like the rest of us. That would mean you represent the company at your annual trailer trash picnic, and therefore make us look bad.

Deadwood is a common term used at Chevron describing those over 50. Chevron has a culture of privileged, backstabbing, government employees. They use a PC vocabulary and fly the rainbow flag, while the target older employees without worry. That is about to change with the legion of lawsuits on file. The first court win will cause an avalanche.

The "dead wood" guy is right. Many of the people cut were useless. Some were just disenfranchised, singled out, or made too much money for their job; but many were just not effective.

Is the reason they are useless because Chevron has gone on a hiring binge and there's too many people for not enough work?

Probably.

Q: What did the first piece of dead wood say to the second piece of dead wood?

A: I dunno, why'd you axe ME?

The dead wood low IQ bastard fits the profile of a low skilled CVX employee protected by his uncle or sister-in-law. They make up 50% of Chevron, even more in IT, CBRES and ETC. These are the people responsible for CVX's rapid decline and poor decisions over the past 10 years.

Agree with the previous poster. The Dead-Wood guy (or girl) Rocks my World! Lighten up a bit. LOL!!! Actually, that's a common term for layoffs. Why the PC-like fear of terminology on a speakeasy site like this?

Clearly, your "level of intellect" has failed you, at maintaining a sense of humor. No doubt, you are one of those lifeless types that keeps your office door firmly closed, as to not allow any social interaction with...other humans. Shit, I'd rather have the dead wood guy, than some bore with no personality.

So this is the level of intellect and professionalism that is lurking in the halls at Chevron, including the OP? That's why these cuts are long past due. This thread is an obvious example. The person who posted that they have been hiring too aggressively over the last several years is one of the few with any sense on this site.

What up, DW? Too busy looking up tired, 20 year old internet acronyms to respond? Don't tell me, your town just upgraded to 56k, and it takes 14 hours to download the latest site updates? So sorry. In the meantime, you can go snuggle with your wife/first cousin, and wait for those precious bytes to trickle in, along with the latest strip poker GIFs...

What would you say to a compromise, Mr. Deadwood? How about deceased timber? Departed planking? Whatever else you call it when you look down south in the bathroom mirror every morning?
