After reading all these posts, all I can say is God bless HR for having to deal with all these crazy people. It's amazing anything actually gets done. What a bunch of whiny cry babies, racists, misogynists, and overall plain dumb people. I don't wish that job on anybody. If you all were my children, I would fake my death and run away to an island in the Pacific.

Please go and commit yourself and get yourself treated for the safety of people around you. Please surrender the custodian of your children so that they have better upbringing. They deserve better.

HR are just normal helpless people - like you. They are not lackeys nor they are not uncaring. They are just helpless people who can't help or save themselves. Please be understanding.
HR is the equivalent of Gestapo of a nazi regime: they will never be on the side of the employee.
Seriously? You clearly have not dealt with HR before. Try getting them involved in a problem with your management or in a dispute over a promotion and you will experience their real value. They will ALWAYS side with management and your career effectively ends at QC. Now you are in very bad terms with your management with no one to defend you and your only option is to quit or to change divisions. NEVER EVER APPROACH HR WITH A PROBLEM thinking they are fair and effective.

OP: Obviously, you are too delicate to work in the technology sector. Perhaps you should try something more civil--such as working in the office of a major law firm.
