All Cafe employees at the South Coast plaza store were told yesterday that the cafe will be closing in February for remodeling and that they could apply at other stores AFTER the holidays but there would be no guarantee they would be hired. There will be no transfers.They will not retain any seniority or benefits. More than a few were in tears. Shame that Nordstrom thinks so little of their employees.

Wow Nordstrom management...too bad you are not the ones being let go! Some of those people have loyally worked for you for years and you are treating them this way; you can bet some of us will not be eating at your store anymore or even
They gave em good notice ...its november. ..its better than zero notice.
Perhaps there were major issues here . I worked at neiman marcus..an entire restaurant that may have had a hepatitis outbreak was left open to not lose money. Doubt thats their case and not defending them. Also nordstrom has been upgrading its restaurants. One took 4 months to reopen. So time and california labor laws may be a factor
