Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo is where you go if you want your career to die

Why would anybody still want to work here unless they really have no other option? Is there anybody who has actually managed to get a promotion in the last several years who is not related or good friends with somebody in the management?

It's ridiculous how little knowledge and experience mean here anymore...

Basically if they can find a way to automate your job or outsource it to India (or somewhere even cheaper) that is the model go forward. The work product doesn't have to be the same quality if they can say they are saving money. The only employees left will be senior leadership.

12uzEAhT-3ncp, what world are you living in? Make yourself indispensable and guess what you will be, unemployed. For 21 years I made myself indispensable and like so may others found out the hard way that the only indispensable people at PepsiCo are the a*kissers, lackeys, and the SLT. During my years at PepsiCo, I rescheduled countless vacations to accommodate my business partners on critical project. I received over a dozen awards by leadership for my work and countless peer recognitions. Hard work got me the recognition but talk of promotion got me excuse that 2 to 3 years I would be ready.

Continue to believe that you are indispensable and management has your back because of the work you do. Like death and taxes I can guarantee that at PepsiCo you will be toss out to the curb at some future date because at PepsiCo an associate is a liability regardless of your experience, work effort or knowledge.

@12uzEAhT-3ncp I know you are either a plant or a Pepsico mouthpiece trying to paint everyone who has been affected by the PepsiCo purge as it was their fault they were let go. Anyone who has worked at PepsiCo knows the timeframe between promotions at PepsiCo is a MINIMUM of 18 months. So don’t lie and disparage those affected by the slaughter of GOOD employees that has been going on for the better part of 5-6 years.

Wow smell a duck is right, the question was asked and answered, then come all the sour grape responses from the people who have actually screwed up this company with that attitude. The person worked their butt off and got promoted and then gets hit with a tickle me Elmo comment? Jealous much? Please follow the advice of the other comment go out and find your double pay new job and take your negativity and sarcasm with you. If there was ever any doubt in your mind why you have never been promoted just re read your comment its all right there. This company gave me a chance to show what I could do when no one else would. What ever happens in the future happens you will never hear me talk bad about my opportunity, I made the most out of it!! Most of the facts in here are wrong anyways like the big Layoff coming the first week of December LMAO!!

Congrats on the three promotions, Captain. I’ve been around for 45 years and seen plenty move quickly. If you’re really good you’ll get to an LG03 and someone who is a bigger snake swallow you. Good news is you'll-get a severance and a resume that will empower you to make double in the fair market :-)

Reminder folks, those who are top performers generally make double on the open market. Go get what you all have coming. Less stress, more pay and company vacations!

Wow, 3 promotions in 2 years. You were actually promoted faster the performance review cycle. Anybody smell a duck? Did they also make a special spot on your desk for your Tickle-Me-Elmo doll? Please, questionable promotions at PepsiCo is not even disputable, it’s been a fact for over 20 years.

Funny I have managed to be promoted 3 times in the last 2 years strictly from my ability. If you care, have passion and go above and beyond you will be noticed. If you sulk around all day saying how c-appy everything is your right you have no future here. Make yourself indispensable and guess what you will be.

If you’re willing to move you get promoted.
If you have any remaining passion they will promote you.
If you’re willing to give any effort over the recommended amount you will get promoted.

Let’s be honest, 98% of the remaining people have mentally exited the arena.
