Most of the QA engineers in SSPD/TSPD team looking out for internal or external moment because some frameworks are unnecessarily imposed on them. The cucumber java framework designed is not adding any value . It has unnecessarily increased the complexity without any value add and many defects are getting leaked to higher environments like cert , just because qa's have to spend time on automation using this framework and they are unable to spend time on actual testing of new functionality .SOAPUI was far better tool , especially pro. Now lot of man hours getting wasted .They have not done any proper analysis without taking the decision

Don't like it? Bye Felicia.
Some changes are coming thats for sure. Still a gazzilion tools and framweworks are currently being used. SoapUI is nice but lacks flexibility comparing to other tools, has longer 'time to market' when adding big changes and can be a disaster to maintain when some really big change needs to be made. But it is not the tool that causes real pain but lack of good E2E perspective when performing the tests, which causes sometimes huge impact when activating carriers or features. The number of systems and layers used in sabre collapses due to complexity and lack of common standards. What is even worse when some of the services have an absurd release cycle of month or even longer... That will hit us hard rather sooner than later

Care to give an example of what you got and what would you expect intead?

Sounds like our team. our BA's stories were one liner puzzles, we often filled in the rest by discussing with people who knew. This "afternoon jogger" carried a principal title. This awesome jogger not moving anywhere, it mostly depends who you report to.
In the past 2 years over 400 QA professionals
have met their demise at Sabre. If you think anyone cares about your post, you are kidding yourself
Cucumber is for BDD and is useful for tech capable BA centric verification of requirements, not for API field validation , mapping to WSDL/WADL, UI, Security, Localization, Performance, or Load. Half of the BAs/TPMs cannot even define acceptance criteria in a story or produce diagrams much less BDD syntax.
