Business Marketing Org has a quick All Hands call this afternoon. Expect Feinstein to announce surplus. I doubt he’ll take any questions, not like you’d get a real answer anyway.

Those, Not in the call are impacted
Is the Jan around of surplus is over?Anyone has any updates please what all departments are impacted.
Confirmed..Fea email at 4pm EST, good luck folks.
In the end, you will happy you were surplussed. Consider it a benefit.
Seems like a different approach this time around. If those impacted were not on a call any idea how they were notified? Thinking about what the topic of the Fea call will be on Monday. Thus far only aware of the one call at noon EST.
The 2 calls in BMO were to inform that there was a surplus today & folks were notified. Folks on the call were not impacted this round
Tromp org meeting 12:00 eastern Monday 1/13
I feel for you folks. I left on my own but I can't imagine what you are going through and hope for the best for everyone. The good news is at least where I live the IT market is hot.
Invite for Mon noon EST is from Fea. Received at 16:00 today.
Can someone clarify what happened today in BMO? Were there two calls? Anyone surplusd or more details to come?
I'm in ATO, and did not get am email or meeting notice. What is SER in ATO?
@12WfFDho-rdh, sorry, but the early meetings like that are not good news. I have seen this twice now, and that is how they notify you that you're surplus. You'll probably get read a script by some douche, non-affected VP of nothing important. The first time I was surplussed it was done this way in a conference call.
For what it's worth, their meeting time was PST, so the message came from somewhere in the Pacific timezone.
ATO, which region? SER ATO has not gotten any emails.
What ATO org got the email? I am in ATO snd noone I know Received it.
As for why the "rule of 75" is an important milestone, it's mostly health care for me, despite that getting chipped away every year.
Also, it is not true that the pension is not guaranteed. AT&T's pension plan is guaranteed by the PBGC, a U.S. federal agency, so even when AT&T figures a way to cheat the pension, the feds are supposed to step in and cover any shortfall to any pension amount you are reasonably likely to earn. Way more than mine, anyway.
ATO here. Everybody I know got an email to attend an online meeting Monday, 9-9:30AM PST.
Hoping that means herd immunity, but, of course, will spend the weekend wondering. Seems a bit early in the day. Previously, they had 2 meetings, back-to-back, so you knew who was hit by scanning their Outlook calendar for which meeting they were assigned to, the later meeting those being told they were safe.
This time, I only see one meeting anywhere near, so perhaps they have personalized things a bit more this time?
The secret impacted call. Like the way they isolate employees and just use a secret call. Typical spineless att.
Call just held. Those impacted within BMO were notified earlier today. No call=safe for now. More town halls to discuss re-orgs next week.
What is today’s surplus...no info at all here!
I volunteered in 2019, took the money and ran. Have heard from two people impacted by today's surplus so far - female, age 50+ and in each case within months of their "rule of 75" attainment. Frankly I never felt that was worth hanging around for, I tell ppl till I'm blue in the face that the employee discount on services isn't worth it (I've gotten better deals) and the pension and other stuff is NOT guaranteed. So why hang on unless you live somewhere where there are no jobs. Well I wish the best of luck to folks, I don't regret leaving one bit.
Wishing i had taken the MVO last month now that the pension benefits are being eliminated one by one (referring to the Medicare Supplement subsidy after 1/1/2021).
It's not "surplus." It's workers that ATT can push out because they're White, Older, and Male. The only "surplus" is the work that will be shoved on those that remain and are desperate enough to work like slave day laborers.
What time is the call?
My 401K is doing great. Since 45 was elected he's been pumping the market to every day new highs. Keep pumping and printing! I love ATT and I love America. Pump pump pump!
Make sure you video all speeches and questions. Post them to social.
I don't understand these "get out while you can" comments on many threads. Can someone please explain? Are you being held hostage? Typically if you are surplussed, you get a severance. Why would you leave without that? If you are rebadged, you get nothing if you go or quit, so.... No wisea$$ answers please. Really want to understand what's behind comments like these. I must be missing something.
@-vpc, more ill advice from a union workers thinking hey canscare managers into leaving as some sort of theory a union worker gets to keep his job instead
Here in ATO, not expecting a call...the last few times it's just been a Friday PM email.
@12WfFDho-vpc Can you please name the other orgs
Get out while you can! Trust me, no other company is like this. I’ve never seen such bad management, especially in such a great economic cycle.
Other orgs have all hands calls today too.
The music is starting to stop and the chairs are disappearing!!
And so..it starts. Good luck to all, and keep you chin up.
