Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Viva LA France!

7 French executives sentenced and fined. Judge Cecile Louis-Loyant said managers used “forbidden” methods to create “a climate of anxiety,” CBS reports.

Managers were said to have bullied people by closing sites unexpectedly and forcing people to move or change jobs repeatedly, ramping up workloads to impossible levels, and tracking employees’ movements, including bathroom breaks. Upper management thought themselves immune and ridiculed work force behind closed doors which led directly to their prison sentencing.

Psychologists have established a connection between extremely toxic social conditions at work and severe depression. Working long hours, having little autonomy, and enduring stress for sustained periods can put people at risk of mood disorders, experts have found.

ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

@erij Again, I suggest you Google it. The Malta Campus is multiple buildings (mostly vacant) and an auxiliary drive-in Estimatics unit located at the rear of the Malta Hyatt parking lot. All that remains of this once productive location that included NY/NJ/MD claims, underwriting, Estimatics, training, executive offices and agency support are first and third party claims only. At it's highest point, State Farm was one of the largest employers in this region. BTW claims isn't a bad job. Condescending much?

@ekan are both buildings up for lease or just the 1? Balston Spa is just like every op center. In my op center we are talking with a medical practice to lease some of the dark spaces. You just did not want a claim specialist job, it's ok to admit it.

@ehcg 101 State Farm Place, Malta, NY has been advertised for lease since 2017. Either you aren't an employee or you're just a troll. May I suggest a Google search?

Exactly what happened to me. 10 years with the company in multiple positions. Moved locations to stay with them and support my family. Ultimately moved to NY state and was let go within 9 months of moving. The huge Malta location is mostly shuttered now and a gigantic employer in upstate NY has left this rural area of few dependable jobs fending for itself. Many of my former coworkers have either moved or filed bankruptcy. I'm about to become homeless for the first time since I became a widow 22 years ago. Where's our good neighbor now?

Yea, the WPC local 401. ( whiners, pssies and crybabies). What do you want a union for anyway, you need help making your career decisions and spending your own money, someone to tell you how to think and vote? Typical snowflake.

Laid off in Oct 2018 after 25 years of busting my arse. The last seven were hellish and I’m damaged goods because of the stress I endured thinking it would save my job. I’ve literally been physically ill since leaving. Thanks SF!

The French protect their way of life. Meanwhile American companies like SF destroy what was once a respectable middle class career such as claim adjuster, turning it into the call center from hell we all know so well now. Trying to force its workforce of thousands into just a few cities. A workforce that was previously spread across this country with all kinds of opportunities to grow within the company, the way it should be. The American way of life has been under attack, and Americans are apathetic or act powerless. As such an iconic American company, this one’s gotten an underserved lack of attention in politics and the media as it goes through its woeful transformation. Look how they have turned their back on their workforce, customers, and legacy. Well the people who have been a part of this company’s story for generations, the true backbone of this company, will not forget anytime soon how they were sold down the river! Everyone who is looking for an employer and an insurer will hear all sorts of tales of mistreatment by this company directly from those who have firsthand experiences. That may not sound like anything new, but these are the people that once upon a time fiercely praised and defended this company who just don’t feel that sense of duty anymore. It’s a sword that cuts both ways.

I hope and pray that those who are responsible for companywide moral harassment at this company will be held accountable for the evil things they have done. When you are victimized to the point that you feel there is nothing you can do to get out of the situation but just walk away ending your livelihood or ending your life, you have been put in an untenable situation. Nothing but vitriol? Until it happens to you, you won’t know how it feels. It’s very real.

@12C2JLdl-xsq, there are plenty of union threads here, so I would say one can discuss union alright (or any other subject relevant to employees for that matter).

My two cents, if something got deleted it’s probably because it contained name-calls or insults. They also don’t allow direct advertising nor asking for votes. Check their user agreement and content rules.

Btw, if they want to, they have every right to ban the talk about something they don’t like, cause it’s a private website and they can set their own rules (i.e. it doesn’t matter if indoor smoking is legal in my city or state, I can ban it from my own house).

“The other Didier Lombards at other companies, whether public or private, need to know that if they keep putting in place managerial policies that push people into depression or s–c-de, we will come and find you.”

Wow, we need someone with a huge set of ‘em in this country to do likewise.

Tipsturd vowed to investigate these false allegations of SF purposefully attempting to force employees out by assigning his top assistant, Mr. Far T. Sniffa on the case. Sniffa has confirmed all allegations are true. I repeat all allegations are true. So Mr. T put his new top assistant, Ms. Hand-obb, on the case to investigate Sniffa. Tipsturd has avowed he will get to the everyone's bottoms even if he has to personally check every crack in the company.

Corporate stooges should be posting usual negative comments about unionization such as it doesn't work. Which is a lie.

I love it..the Loyal Brotherhood of Teamsters & Insurance Employees, Chapter 289. Has a pleasant ring to it.

Let's see...upside to unionization...work contracts that provide job and benefits protections. Guaranteed raises, Guaranteed work protections, getting back all that was taken away due to corporate greed. Pensions and full retirement benefits. Oh you don't like our contract demands, let me introduce you to our lawyers and we go on strike. Maybe some muscle too from the Loyal Brotherhood to keep corporate clowns & scabs in check. I like it. No jobs going to India.

When you delete posts encouraging the unionization of workers, please know you are violating federal laws protecting workers rights to openly discuss unions. You and SF can be held liable for deleting union posts. I have copied all posts including unionization and that in the past those posts have been illegally deleted by your site. Have a nice day.
