Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Is the news stories about store closings current or upcoming?

The news today reports 100 stores closing. Are they all now closing or upcoming closings. Do they expect another round in November. Just asking working there part time and time we are not closing but have little inventory and not on list. Store is k mart speculation is we are on the next round and November makes sense as it just seems we have no holiday items.

Thank you

They are referring to the stores announced on Sep. 1. I dont see any new closings announced after Oct. 1. Even West Covina & Hayward CA wer both announced in September. So sadly, no new news yet.

That is from the last round of closing announcements and is referring to when they close to the public. More will be coming though until we liquidate.

@11wxbEq8 Very little inventory means two things: Vendors have not been paid or demand payment upfront before delivering to stores. A large retailer can't survive under those conditions.

This issue is Eddie Lampert. He's burned his bridges with vendors, investors, Stanley Black and Decker, and Sears Holdings. With a reputation like his I doubt very much all stores survive.
