Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo products and management are TOXIC

Yeah I hear more layoffs are on the horizon. Too much emphasis on offshoring and automation. All corporate and plant positions are not safe; as if they ever have been.

BI Reporting ? If this is the Essbase and ERT stuff then your answer is yes. CC surrendered this stuff long time ago and it should been moved by June. Let’s be serious, this stuff is a cost waste and should have been replaced by Tableau years ago. Thanks to incompetence, it was not. This area has been poorly managed anyway. With the new CDO role, we are hoping data integrity improves and more current tools can be used by the organization.

@11iXtINT-1yrl is 100% correct. There is no substitute for a loyal, dedicated, educated, hard working employee. That employee is worth gold. I know of many employees that had proven throughout their career that they can learn, adapt, and lead. These employees were successful in every new job they acquired. When these employees applied for internal positions, most weren't even called for an interview. Those very few who were called, were not given a fair chance. I strongly believe it's because Pepsico did not want any employees with a pension. I have kept in touch with the employees, and all have accelerated in positions with other companies, making significant contributions. I really am grateful to Pepsico, for the opportunity that they gave me. I was never going to be a Pepsico lifer. That's just too much risk. You're putting all your future in one basket. I wish Pepsico and all it's employees the best. All I can say, is an army without good loyal, brave soldiers will fail.

Sending more jobs to India. We all experienced what happened when IT was lifted and shifted. Lousy service and extended wait times. Now they want to move reporting etc. Sounds like a great job lan if you want to run your business blind. Not saying teams would in India cannot do the work. There are lots of qualified workers there. PepsiCo however will not find them because PepsiCo will negotiate the cheapest stripped down no frills contract possible. You get what you pay for PepsiCo!!!

Not long ago I posted we should follow the projects. That’s where the changes will take place. I still believe that to be the case.

I heard this same fairy tale back in 2014. “Our top priority is supporting our people through this transition. We will work to find new roles for people” It’s the same c-ap just a different diaper. Training budgets for target employees went to zero, all internal opportunities were declined and there was nobody to help us through the change. Meanwhile some jobs were reposted right after people were let go. Seasoned employees were treated like criminals during exit meetings. History has proven that employee value and loyalty is zero. Believe it or not, many of these leaders and liars still get up and go to church each Sunday. Shameful !

Minimal? Why would there be a need to email everyone to rethink how we communicate and work so we can accommodate these changes? The budget for layoffs says this is not minimal. The email says this is not minimal. If he wants to be transparent, give us a number of how many people are about to lose our jobs. I feel punished for doing nothing wrong. How about stop hiring new people and put existing people in jobs that won't be eliminated. No more college people going into management roles
Take existing college graduates already working for the company and give them a chance. Break down the 2 level rule so people are able to move instead of be eliminated. Ignore age and look at abilities. Promote from within and move those that will lose their jobs. I know he said they will try but if they can move jobs to India, they can move jobs around the US too.

Here we go again!

In the coming weeks, we’ll begin to centralize and transition a portion of work into a business services location in Hyderabad, India. These ongoing activities will take place over several years to remove duplication, increase consistency and speed up decision making.

The initial impact to our people is minimal; however, small waves of work transfer will occur across the business as we begin to move fragmented and duplicative work such as reporting and analytics, database maintenance, and budget management.

This will require us all to keep an open mind and adopt new ways of working. We will also need to be mindful and inclusive in the way we operate daily, leveraging technologies that enable video conferencing and being deliberate in how we interact with colleagues who may be based in different locations and time zones.

Our top priority is supporting our people through this transition. We will work to find new roles for people, where possible, and we will provide several months’ notice on roles that will be impacted as well as resources to help manage through the change.

DVC has proven to not be an effective answer for automation. $14 million spent on projects that have failed multiple times now. Do not see it going anywhere following K–lingly. All project leads have moved in to new roles or different plants.

Nobody really knows what is happening. The company has moved into damage control mode because they can’t stop the bleeding. Employee cuts have been held back while they try and figure out what to go. Year end will be an even bigger disaster if they cut IT any further. The ship is sinking and the leadership team is busy selling tickets for another voyage. It’s hillarious.
