Cutting more jobs almost every day. Precision railroading is all about running company in the ground for rich to get richer and laying off thousands to do it. System will not work it's a short term massive stock market gain. Then sell out and leave a company having to rebuild. Ridiculous to do the employees that serve this railroad like this. Families hurting and city's hurting as well from what it will do to the local small town businesses and economy. Never seen a company with big wings like this so greedy and cut throat.

Knowing some of the people in charge at UP, they’d probably try and buy Amtrak which has lost money every year since it started.
@pjs: KCS/UP merger is prevented by anti-trust laws, because KCS has the only other direct line into Mexico. This rumor has been going around forever. It's BS.

Being this is the rumor mill. A company official said that up was get in position to buy the KCS. Kinda makes since that they are hiring for jobs in marketing in Mexico.
