Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Is there any still DM's?

Just so you know you were/are the joke of the stores....nobody respects you and it's a big joke after you leave for walk throughs and point out a couple obvious things that should be done without ever giving any actual positive advice you are a waste of money anyone can do what you do and your job is going to be gone so just stop......you are the #1 most worthless assets to the company unless worthless bullying of dumb metrics is important you are completely worthless and you probably know that already and are just collecting your almost 6 figure paychecks doing absolutely nothing but throwing sh– fits to the stores you're in charge of

DM’s exist so that the higher ups and the folks in HQ don’t have to deal with all the compliance, HR problems, hiring, etc.
They exist so they can be blamed and have to deal with all that’s wrong at the store level.
As long as there are VP’s or Region Mgrs, they will exist.
If the company was serious about payroll control, the company could elimate the Region staffs and allocate that saving to store payroll.
Ever notice that during times of reorganization, the Regions an DM’s are barely ever equally reduced, with many saved and given special assignments or newly created jobs?

The DMs were my peers for many, many years during my time in Hoffman. We used to refer to them as the "residents of Romper Room", as they all needed to be babtsat and had the combined intellects of your average toddler. They were, and no doubt continue to be wastes of skin and oxygen. When you can't meet basic staffing needs in stores, why the heck do you need these stooges?

Of course there are DMs. Somebody's gotta be the one to travel to closing stores to read the generic form letter informing associates that their store is closing while pretending to actually care.

Haven't worked at Kmart in 18 Years. Just curious, are the stores still divided into "districts" within states? As an example, when I was aSst. store manager in WESTWOOD NJ, our district was WESTWOOD, WAYNE, CLOSTER, PARAMUS, LODI, PASSAIC, & ELMWOOD PARK NJ. Our "district store" was Passaic NJ, as that's where the DM's office was located. However, Last Year that store closed. Does that mean one of the other stores becomes the "district store"? Or do the remaining stores get absorbed in another district?
Probably a moot point in my example (as the only 1 of those remaining stores from my district still open is WESTWOOD and they will probably be closing soon), but I was just curious as to how that works when a store that contains the DM's office closes.....

Bitter, party of one.... no matter what, it seems everyone has nothing but negative comments. If what your DM pointed out was so obvious, what wasn’t it addressed prior to his/her visit? The DM may be the #1 most worthless asset, however associates such as yourself, who add to the toxic atmosphere are running a close second. Instead of choosing to throw a sh-fit on this board, Why not set the tone and start giving actual positive feedback? It just might be reciprocated.
