Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

United States Labor Board

Wrote a nice email to the labor board this morning regarding the time frames this company is giving the MST teams to complete tasks. I have been in the progrsm a long time and what they are doing to these employees is unethical and borderline illegal. I cited examples and provided them with names of leadership at corporate in charge of labor capacity. They want to keep ignoring the problem reported to them, then it's time they explain it to the government why they are doing what they do. I have had enough.

If it’s illegal then they need to be fined. Just like the latest class action!

Lowe's faces lawsuit over pay for managers
— The company has “maintained a policy and practice of failing to pay Plaintiffs and Hourly Managers for time spent reading and responding to work-related smartphone communications during non-work hours, including during unpaid meal periods, or for being required to report early for work to perform a pre-shift ‘sweep’ of the premises by slowly driving their vehicles around the outer perimeter of the retail store to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary has occurred overnight,” the suit states. “Because much of this time qualifies as overtime within the meaning of applicable federal and state laws,

By American standards where the standards amount to, don't actively k–l your employees, then sure nothing wrong here.

But if you think most business practices in the US are fair then you need to take a look at other countries to appreciate how short our end of the stick really is. At Lowe's for example, you need to work for 15 years (!) before you get a full month of vacation time per year. In Europe, a month is the bare minimum - and most companies offer more than that. Add in bank holidays and everyone's de facto time is more like five weeks.

This is to say nothing of paid parental leave, sick time, etc.

What actually is the Labor Board, and what does it have to do with Lowe's scheduling and task assignments?

Sounds like some associates at my store; they are always going to turn Lowe’s in to the ADA for handicapped violations.

The ADA is the American Disabilities Act, it’s a law not an agency.

You wrote the government and told them basically that you’re employer is working you too hard. What law or statute are you suggesting that Lowe’s violated? I swear some of you on here need need to get out of your bubble and take a Xanax.
