Voluntary offer coming to management next week, off payroll by December 31st. Not sure if it’s across the board but ATO will be impacted so I assume C&E is about to get hit considering the nonexistent expense budget and recently announced $3B cut to our capital budget in 2020.

Money cannon just shot off in my cube today. Next job wants to bump up my start date to match our 12-30 date. Not going to skip a single paycheck; entire severance pocketed. And, I'll be making more money.
It's been a good run. Best of luck to everyone. Hopefully, someone gets to hang on till they hit their magic number now.
My email says, “all US based ATO and GCSC managers, L1-L4.
What work group got the email?
No doubt now. Just got an email about it.
No, I meant the person that is in denial.
@ 7wsi, why is the person who sends out an MVO an id–t? Did I understand what you said correctly? To me, that person is lucky to hand out the rip cord to the starving peasants, release them from their bonds.
I'm a professional calendar surfer. Some kind of headcount reduction is getting announced tomorrow. Best indication is MVO. I'd bet 9:00 or 9:30 central. We'll find out who the id–t is by lunchtime. Went out via email last year, so watch your inbox. While you had your head buried in the sand, I was negotiating my next gig. My butt will be in another seat making more money on 1-6 or sooner with a fat check coming mid-feb.
Fake. Its amazing when you say Confirmed🤣
Confirmed. Voluntary packages coming tomorrow inside ATO.
That is standard for involuntary layoffs. In my group it has never been a part of voluntary offers.
All downsizing calls to date have been "no subject" mandatory calls. It's the classic, must attend, can't share subject details call, related to a "don't share until XX/XX @ XX:XX" email managers get whenever there's a surplus.
This might also explain the extreme lack of real information on Kortes L2+ open mike this week.
Why would you have a “no subject” call for the voluntary offer?
BTW... NO sweeteners in "offer".
Not at all fake news... I have a "no subject" call 11/15.
It’s Thursday, so where is this offer?
Just do a search on HROneStop to find the past MVO terms. Next one isn't going to be that different. No need to speculate.
I'm outta here, offer or not. I can wait till Monday to quit though.
“Offer pays earned vacations and bonus and even partial bonus for following year.”
Here is another genius. What offer are you talking about? As of the time you wrote your nonsense dribble, there was no offer.
“By the way for the voluntary offer you do not give up your earned bonus or vacation days.”
How do you know? The offer hasn’t been made yet. You know nothing as far as I’m concerned.
January 2020 gone be layoffs, reckin y’all ought to git nother job quick
My boss is getting all the private meetings popping up on his calendar that come with surplus of MVO. This is looking legit. Southwest C&E.
Didn't AOL acquire TIme Warner some time around the turn of the millennium? How did that turnout for AOL? They were cut loose ? Whats that? Who is AOL you ask? History repeats Itself for those who chose to ignore it. But hey, when millions in makers fees are offered up at the deciders tables? Who cares about history!
Really got to wonder about commenters here. Offer pays earned vacations and bonus and even partial bonus for following year. Why try to "whoa is me" just to confuse some that may actually being impacted???
By the way for the voluntary offer you do not give up your earned bonus or vacation days.
Hope this is an across the board ATO management offer
How many managers are in ATO currently?
Business Marketing had a "Voluntary Offer" last month. Yes, it is voluntary and severance was up to 6 months...I guess if enough folks did not take it by 10/31 then we will be hearing very soon of an involuntary surplus....So "YES" there is such a thing as a voluntary offer....
Voluntary offer is an offer to leave without a package.
“What a bunch of garbage. Why do people make up this lunacy?”
Are you saying there will not me an MVO in November?
What a bunch of garbage. Why do people make up this lunacy?
An offer is coming but will only be 6 months pay. Those taking the offer will also forfeit their 2019 bonus and will not be paid for unused vacation. The target is to lose 300 managers in ATO through the MVO. If target is not met, the rest will come from the January 2020 surplus.
@-1njz
Sure there is a LOT of BS office politics involved in work outsourcing. But who knows the main motivation for this management attitude.... do I say Money ?? If an external investigation is launched, how many “kickbacks”, how many “big gifts”, how many boats, cars, even houses gifted by external individuals with business ties to att could we found ?? Humm....
Randall is the one they need to cut. Several bad decisions in a row going back to the 4 billion pay out for the failed T-Mobile merger, 45 billion for Dtv and 100 billion for time warner all in declining markets. How many bad decisions can the CEO make before they send him packing. The time warner purchase has sent the company in a downward spiral having an unrecoverable amount of debt and now the employees are paying the price for managements horrible decisions. I should know they cut me in oct of 18 after 19 years. Never had a bad review and received several progressions. It's past due time to send Randall down the road!
There’s always plenty of work, it just depends on if the company wants to pay people to do it. I’ve been surplused while working mandatory 60 hour weeks before.
Disagree. Plenty of work in some areas especially for techs. It's just the BS politics that have allowed the company to oursource work (TV installs, construction work, cell tower growth work) even in many instances for more money vs keeping it in house.
Employees should be grateful it's lasted this long. I don't know how they keep people on the books with NO real work occurring. This place is SUSTAINMENT ONLY, that's not going to change. It's Randy, he messed up...#1 TMOBILE, #2 DTV, #3TW/HBO. Major debt and no plan now, except retire next year. NICE.
The days of anything more than the standard 6 months severance are long, long, long gone.
T is trying to pay down debt, resulting in increasing surplusses, contract labor, off shore—cheaper labor.
God Bless Us All !!!
I’m pretty confident it will be voluntary severance offer just like before with six months pay. I seriously doubt there is going to be any kind of offer of years or service to leave the company. So basically, if you were ready to retire or just move onto another career you’d get your last pay check with extra six months pay
What does 3+3 mean?
Back in the late 90's thru 2002 Pacific Bell provided different incentives by adding 3 years to your NCS date to boost your pension and gave 3 years salary. In 2000, I know people in network services that left Pacific Bell with 4+4's and 5+5's, (depending on the work group), the stock price back then was also hovering at $60.00 - than SBC took full control of Ma Bell and ruined everything. The last 3+3 that I know of was back in 2002 but who knows, maybe with Elliot hammering on RS and the stank, maybe they will bring back a real incentive to get people off the fence and take the offer. I'm hoping, we will find out next week.
3 + 3 (3 years of pay and 3 years of service added) is unlikely to occur for a company that has a cash/debt issue. The pension is funded by 95% cash and 5% stock. I am hoping they can fund that!
