Just heard this out of HE. They are also interested in global Kmart brand rights. Could spell the end of Kmart USA.

Then why does Wesfarmers have an Anko store in Metro Seattle, after testing pop-up versions over the past year? Why is Wesfarmers hiring warehouse workers for an Anko warehouse in Seattle?
I can draw a line between Wesfarmers and TransformCo and it means buying the global rights to the KMart name in exchange for sunsetting it in the US and instead making Anko the next retail success story.
No, this is absolutely false.
With Wesfarmers, I definitely could see Guam succeeding for the long haul. The demerger with Coles has given them cash, and they’re willing to stick with the times and not fall into a retail spiral.
Also, Anko is going to be a major growth brand (they already have a store in Washington State).
If Wesfarmers bought the Guam store Target would arguably be a better brand. Or of course Walmart could buy it, since they're already in Hawaii, Japan and China.
This is probably factual. Someone posted another thread from HE over a month ago that Kmart Australia execs had flow into Hoffman.
I hope this is true. Guam needs this store and Kmart Australia is decent.
Since you seem to be lacking reading comprehension, let's try this again:
"TheLayoff.com is a simple discussion board for all of us who would like to learn more about the rumors or possibility of job cuts in our company.
The workforce reduction process is inherently secretive and plagued with rumors. Companies release little or no details while planning such resource actions. On the other hand, the lives of each of us may be greatly impacted by these top-secret decisions - hence all the anxiety that workers may experience.
Enter TheLayoff.com - The purpose of this site is to provide a space for anyone who'd like to discuss the possibility, likelihood or impacts of layoffs in a company of interest."
@flm Nope. Facts must be verifiable. This is a retail news website. Much like CNN, FOX, NBC, whatever, articles should be sourced and verified.
@flm This is literally a rumor website. It says so in its description.

It's right there on the front page. But go off with your "news" theory...
@mzi lacks reading comprehension
Thanks, @why, so true. Tagging this as #thelayoff #GOLD post
I think you are missing the whole point of this site. People are welcome to post any form of information they may wish to contribute. It can be rumors, opinions, confidences, or verifiable facts. In this case the OP posted something they "heard" out of HE. You are free to accept, dismiss, or dispute this bit of information, however, the OP is under no obligation to meet any burden of proof requirement!

I don't need to offer proof that his statement is false. I don't need to prove a negative. I could post that I'm a Millionaire Married to a supermodel, but unless I prove it, my statement means nothing. I googled Guam Kmart and have found zero evidence of this sale. Not Saying it's false, just Saying posts like this should include proof.
Kmart is already dead. And Sears. How can people still not realize this?
SMH
I think them selling the Guam store to Australia pretty much true. The other new saying that they want the global rights to Kmart I am not so sure. I heard about it though and would not be surprised. Most likely though yeah, it would pretty much k–l off Kmart the US.
@ick - I don't see you offering any proof or evidence that the OP's statement is false!
Well if the Australians buy Kmart as a whole maybe there will be actual hope for the brand here
Any proof? I see no evidence online of this.
