I don't think the condition of the fabs and equipment is what's causing the problems. Intel has to design and build competitive / working chips that customers want before manufacturing them.
Of course more layoffs are coming, people are in denial. A 20 year old factory with 20 year old machines can't compete, what did you expect?
INTC is over built and needs huge financing because server markets ain't cutting it !
