I want the green and blue teams to know I'm alive. That I'm in a city with a closed office, where the EC just bombed a hospital filled with unarmed men, women and children. There will be no survivors. If you think for one second that the will ever treat us fairly you are lying to yourself. Because you know who they are and what they do. This is what they do! And we must fight back! President Chuck says he’s sending us a message? Well, I have one for him. You can torture us and bo-b us and burn our sites to the ground, but do you see that? Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!

Traditionally mass layoff happens in middle of September. September 5th is very poor timing since it is right on the cusp of TG3.

I don't think its a literal September 5. But September 5 is the first working day after the Labor Day transition group. I'd speculate that whoever is tasked with doing the layoff in each business group will start the process of picking names and meeting the layoff targets on September 5 even if the pink slips don't go out.

Actual layoffs will being mid to late September and probably continue through October if the EC communication are to be believed.

Either of the dates, 5th or 18th, are just educated guesses. I think there was/is consensus, that layoffs would happen in September. My prediction was always mid September. This was based partly on the original RTO of 10/1 (so folks impacted are not in the office), and will get the impacted off the books before EOY.

Are layoffs starting Sept 5th? I thought it was the week of the 18th from other posts on the forum.

Do yourself a favor, don't open a history book. It used to be a lot worse. It'll send you to an even darker place.
