I am starting to miss the mindless troll post such as What does a LL6 (LL_) make, or I am contract and none of the blue stripers do anything or My LL6 does nothing all day.

Ford Labs was not cut.
Ford labs were told they are cut, last week.
The only people d-mber than Ford management are the id--ts who believe anything on here.
"Not going to happen..."
So trusting, foolish, or whatever.
You too are a number and will be treated as one. Good Luck.
Been around for almost 30. Still working on future projects. But, if offered a voluntary package like in the past, I would more than likely take it.
Until then, I'll stick around because retiree Healthcare seems pretty expensive (even with the stipend) until Medicare. That's probably stopping a lot of people.
Look, whether the layoffs come at once or on a case by case basis, they will surely come. Just be prepared for when they do and you'll be fine. You may even end up better off. Companies are starting to lay off in response to a slowing economy. People have been talking about it coming for a long time. Regardless of what the stock market says or thw president says, people know how they feel when they pay bills, and purchase necessities, and discretionary spending is decreasing. If Ford doesn't cut people for restructuring reasons, they will likely do so in reaction to a poor economy.
Not going to happen. Made perfectly clear ...leave if you want and don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out. Otherwise su-k it up (at least if you are salaried)
A voluntary package would be awesome.
I don't see it happening before the mid-year reviews are completed so July/August timeframe, though last years big reduction happened in late June. There is some circumstantial evidence that we may see voluntary packages for the first time in a few years, before a round of involuntariness.
New strat probably won't be huge layoffs.
But multiple staggered and small layoffs rather than one huge large one
The best strategy is the "broken clock is right twice a day". Just predict layoffs for the next month and you will eventually be right.
