Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Greed will destroy Belk

It's not that I don't want to work for Belk anymore, but I don't want to work for top dogs for whom this company serves only for personal gain. And it’s not that there are no options, I found an alternative very quickly. I refuse to continue to allow some individuals to become super rich thanks to us who sacrifice our health in this company. I wish it weren't so, but I think Belk will be talked about in the very near future as a company that got destroyed by greed?

@1okl. That is exactly what's going on in my store. And it's getting worse every day.

@ylr, “ just a smokescreen to cover the fact that Belk is making huge cuts to the befits they offer”, Can you specify on this? Details?

"Bad grammar and sentence structure. Perhaps taking an 8th grade English class would help."

Very helpful, Mrs. Krabappel (Simpsons reference). Perhaps you should take a nice, van trip, cross-country-- and don't cross back.

Also known for unethical, unequal treatment of employees. The hardworkers are paid less, favored and new hires are paid more, while they laze throughout their shift.

"Moody's assigns Belk a Caa2 CFR after its emergence from bankcruptcy recently. Despite the reduction of $450 million of debt through the bankcruptcy process, Belk's leverage remains unsustainably high and leaves the company vulnerable to any potential future shocks with limited access to additional sources of capital."
i have a bad feeling about this! Any latest news on acquisition or liquidation from Belk?

"Spend $10 get 10% off, Spend $20 get 20% off, Spend $30 get 30% off!!" said by a street vendor!
I said to myself "I must not be too greedy." So I decided to spend $100
The latest news that Belk Retailer is increasing their minimum wage $15.00/Hour for many new associates hired across the country is really just a smokescreen to cover the fact that Belk is making huge cuts to the benefits they offer and many low quality merchandises and products they offer in many flagship department stores and trying to compete with Target, Walmart and other low price retail stores. Words on Wall Streets and experts predict that Belk will probably close many stores at some point soon. Still the company operate about 290 stores across many states, but they just cannot afford to have all those too many stores in too many unprofitable locations and sooner or later, they’re going to have to bite the bullet and start closing many bad stores. You do not have to be a financial genius in business to read between the lines!
