"Store closings will and have always occurred AFTER Easter to milk that holiday for anything it is worth anymore in terms of apparel sales."

Good time to roll out all the unsold goods from lasts year's Easter Bomb. With Covid on the rise, again, this year's bomb oughtta make last year's look like a 2-inch salute.

"Stay safe, be well and get smart."

Sounds sorta terse. Unless you mean Maxwell Smart:

Sorry about that, Chief!
Missed it by "that" much.
Would you believe talking into a shoe?

No it can not and should not.

Personnel reductions and store closures will be "negotiated" and detailed as part of the "bankruptcy proceedings". All of this will be announced in late Feb. / early March. Store closings will and have always occurred AFTER Easter to milk that holiday for anything it is worth anymore in terms of apparel sales.

Stay safe, be well and get smart. NONE of this is about you, it never was .

No, This can not be trusted. Like @yku said they do not intend to close stores. What a bunch of bull. My store's stock is so scarce and we were told we will be having very small trucks if any. But they still insist we are not closing and they say we need to bump up customer service all the while being dishonest about what is really being said on the surveys. And why is everything out of stock on belk.com?

Belk will of course say this to prevent panic amongst the ranks. We know better.....

you have to watch the wording on these statements and be able to read between the lines. For example, they said on Facebook "they do not intend to close stores", well I don't "intend" to get run over by a bus either, but it could happen. How dumb do they think we are?

‘Belk will continue “normal operations” as it goes through bankruptcy, according to a news release from Sycamore. Pending objections, New York-based Sycamore expects Belk to exit bankruptcy by the end of February.’

So business as usual until the end of February? 🤔
