Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

New hires

Curious, anyone here who actually applied for a US job and actually got hired this year? If yes, how has it been for you? A friend applied for a job at a Houston Campus and the recruitment team nicely replied, thanks but no thanks, although the person was qualified.

From @wnp+1czaopMf. I'm curious about that, too. I also have a friend who applied, admittedly not for a job at the Houston Campus, but he was also turned down even though his resume is impressive.

@ydb+1cBf0hBq: “ Why would anyone who is a new hire be feeding themselves on the negativity of this site?”
New hires, lesson no. 1: this is how EM management thinks. Forget about the negativity and deep toxicity that EM provides you each day by design, the problem is the negativity of this site. It’s called the EM managerial reality distortion field and will lead this company to great achievements, that is to being bought, sold in pieces and you, new hires, being laid off just as BP did to Amoco and Arco in the late ‘90s.
Caveat emptor.

Hired many many people over the year. Just not in the US.

It’s impressive but not the best and the brightest because Xom only hires the best and the brightest! Repeat after me- we are ExxonMobil! And we are the best!

Impressive has nothing to do with your ranking here. Trust me you are better off looking somewhere else. Save yourself grief andgsin a longer life expectancy. Unless your a female and a minority that speaks well you will be piped,

Plenty of impressive candidates apply for jobs at EM and get turned down. That’s nothing new.

Takes more than an impressive resume to get hired. As bad as things are there is still a long line of people wishing they worked for ExxonMobil.
