Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Will there be MCC contribution to 401(k) this year?

Are we getting any additional 401(k) match this year?

Usually every year they announce it way earlier

Thanks Geoff for being a huge disaster.

Fail. We get 3% mcc with no participation. 3% matching on top, then discretionary on top of that.

Yes to MCC 3%. No to additional contributions from MDT (up to 3% more).

Aren't mcc and additional matching different?
MCC is the 3% of your salary that Medtronic gives you regardless of your 401k contribution.
Additional matching is anything beyond the match they give if you DO contribute.
The email this morning indicated no additional matching this year, but mentioned nothing about MCC. Would be surprised if we do not get MCC.

Medtronic may also make additional matching contributions after the end of the Plan year based on the company’s Earnings per Share (EPS) used for incentive plan purposes, which was $5.55 for FY23. In FY23, our EPS performance did not qualify for an additional 401(k) match.

Getting costlier and costlier to continue working here.

What the he-l kind of company of this size and scale offers a measly 3% match? It’s embarrassing.

My partner works in a non-profit sector and gets 10%

Email just went out. It was buried in the fine print. No additional match due to EPS miss. Shocker, right?

The 50% match has been applied each quarter as you’ve had payroll deductions. I assume No additional match beyond that,

Woke Broke! Medtronic is light years behind our competitors since he focused on social justice and IDE initiatives rather than innovation and new products. Sad reality!
