If it was even possible to bring down the already low morale, then the layoffs managed to do so. How will our leadership ever manage to restore employee morale? I'm guessing they won't even try.

Kudos to your VP for having the smarts to think of his people. I walk past director and VP doors that are closed tight since people have started coming back in. Really nice collaboration and morale boosting. I think I see more socializing and walks through the hallways than actual work. My meetings are still on Zoom with my team, even when half the people are there. No personalization to our desks, or even having just a space of our own. I figure I worked 30-90 minutes a day more when I was remote. They are not going to get that back now from me with how they are botching their hybrid model.
RTO email was just sent to employees at OHQ advising us to be in the office starting May 1st. When I work on site there, it’s a ghost town. Plus they took away our dedicated desk space so I’m naturally not going to be as productive as I am at my home office. I will also add, our manager hasn’t mentioned RTO to us at all. Our VP stated if we can do our jobs at home we can continue doing so. There’s such a huge disconnect here.
Think it's bad now, wait for your 2% merit during 6% inflation.
Reorg and bring everyone back to office because watching each other work will make us work better…keep us focused, thus happy. I wish this was more than sarcasm. It’s just sad.
Morale will only be restored once the company stops cutting programs and shows it will invest in the future. You also can’t cut incentive programs like recognize. First step would be for them to dump their stupid MIP model and return it to OU only performance. EPS and market share can’t be controlled by the every day worker.
@xqf+1miw5jSX by that time, MDT might no longer be your company
Very sad, GM needed this RIF to keep his job ,,,, IMHO
It'll take many months, likely over a year, but if the company can perform well in the future, morale will eventually return. I hope.
@uwk+1miw5jSX the boost wasn't from MDT actions related to the RIF; it was a sympathy rally from strong earnings of our competitors, FDA approval on the Minimed, and an upgrade from Wells Fargo to $100.
I guess they don't have too. The stock price is already up 10% since last week. They have what they wanted to achieve.
