Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Bonus is bogus!

Company made $17B last year. could’ve easily doubled everyone’s bonus and still had $16B left. What a joke

OP doesn’t understand the differences between cash flow, operating margin, net income and group net worth. We didn’t “make” 17 billion last year. Completely financially illiterate. Which is on par for the average person who posts on this site. Probably a claim rep.

Every one that was employable already left and took advantage of an unprecedented employment opportunity of a lifetime. Nothing left but rejects and ex------t.

This thread is hilarious😂😂 You have a person that thinks that SF is a family, someone who believes Forrest Gump is real, someone who thinks uninsured motorist coverage pays the uninsured motorist, and someone who thinks insurance is socialism. And unless it is a bot these are real people, in society.

@plk aka Lucy. Surely you don’t believe we are paying anything for the uninsured motorist? Uninsured coverage protects OUR insured and pay OUR insured when the negligent party has no insurance. Wow a whole lot of ignorance on display in your post.

Seriously, uninsured motorist is socialism? Yes, we actually do pursue assets of uninsured motorists if they have any. However, many times they are indigent. We also cooperate with local law enforcement to impose criminal sanctions. Does that help you Lucy?

Read some of these. It is a capitalist system. That's why it is imperative to never ever let them or anyone at SF know if you have a second income. It's none of their business.

Splain me uninsured motorist. We are paying for people uninsured? What percentage of premium paid do we get back on uninsured motorist from the uninsured motorists? Is that not socialism and they never pay it back? Exactly like our criminal justice system. They do the crime and we pay for their welfare? There are criminal crooks and crooks in suits. Both are same IMO.

Correct and woke translates to “things that frighten me.”

Socialism has become the self-pitier's catchall word. It translates to "stuff that makes me unhappy".

You do realize Forest Gump is a fictional character right? But yes, in a capitalistic society, while wages/pay ebb and flow they ultimately reflect the value society and marketplace attaches to them. I personally don’t think professional athletes should make 100 million or more a year but apparently society does.

You are always paid what you are worth.....Always? Really? That's why Forest Gump took a job mowing lawns for free and he was a gazillioaire...

@zdi-no insurance is not socialism. It is a form of financially responsibility. Although state governments may require minimum liability they do not require comp or collision. Likewise, many homeowners without a mortgage choose not to carry insurance as do many renters. No choices in socialism….

Not sure you actually understand insurance. Are you hoping your life insurance pays off soon?

"You always get what you pay for....." That's a big lie from an elite socialist. I've paid premiums for years and years without a claim. Is nothing what I paid for? Big execs get big bonus? Talk about a PONZI scheme. I call it capitalist abuse. Speaking of socialism...insurance is that by definition.

You are always paid what you are worth-capitalism. Unless of course you are a socialist.

Can't wait for the do nothing trolls to trash this post and demanding you be grateful for getting one. Yes bits deceptive and no one in Systems should get one. Or leadership

Big pay for little is essence and acting like ego maniacs saving the company and employees and lining their pockets

System stinks

Most, if not all, of the net worth gain is from investments. It appears that this year, the investment portfolio is likely to shrink. I’m sure you’ll be stepping up and offering a sizable portion of your paycheck to cover that?

Suggest the workers get in leadership then.

@xmw you must be talking about Tipsord bonus or the MIP bonus or all the perks leadership but not the workers get. That by definition is a entitled little btch as you put it.

Just reported today. Wages have remained constant or have fallen. When a company does not care about the quality of life of its workers, it creates physical and mental health issues of its workers. State Farm is too worried about its social image rather than taking care of it's own family. It is disturbing the amount of illness they are causing. It's like a D R U G abuser. They are so high on their numbers and production, they can't see what they are doing to their employees in the long run. It all leads to the chaos they create. If they don't stop the abusing, the chaos will come to haunt them.
