Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Everyone seems really quiet , Anyone hearing any news for Round 2

Everything and everyone seems quiet right now. When will we find out /about what the cuts done in April accomplished in term of saved numbers and if more are needed?

Are there more layoffs expected? Hearing chatters about another round in Santa Rosa once the consolidation is over

I think the poster below meant CRM.

FDA classified as a class I recall for ICDs last month

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls/medtronic-recalls-implantable-cardioverter-defibrillators-icds-and-cardiac-resynchronization-therapy

Why are CRM employees still paid 70% MIP after this is beyond me. Great going Geoff

Google search did not show any recent Medtronic diabetes voluntary recalls. Where did you see it? Thanks.

Probably no layoffs but it will be impossible to get any work done with the lack of resources. People will leave on their own, just how they planned it.

While another layoff is a possibility, I don't see one coming very soon. MIP has been released, people who want to leave will leave anyway. Either way, everyone needs to watch their back.

Less layoffs this year but expect very few departures to be filled. In April the rif was part of a big restructuring charge. During the year the OU has to cover severance on the P/L.

I know people don’t like to hear/read bad news, but..,

1- excom will never share the % of layoffs. They promised transparency, but they have no intention to be transparent. (#minnesota_nice!)
2- I heard many OUs didn’t meet the targets, so if they didn’t increase their sales as promised, more heads will roll…
3- the layoffs will continue till next FY.
according to the plans. They need to move roles to India and the only way is by layoff. US is an easier process compared to the regions. In the regions it takes months, because it has to go to works councils in each country where roles are impacted. It’s a matter of time until your name shows up in a list. (Or you will wish your name comes up with all the chaos caused by all the changes and impacts).
4- in addition, I feel sorry for the functions. They are unable to do their work due to lack of resources and funding. I mean all if them- Finance, IT, HR, Legal… The LTs are dysfunctional teams. There is no way they will make the targets till the end of the FY and they know it already.
5- Diabetes… ! Just read the recent news.

I can’t believe GM and KP are still around!… what a mess!

Personally, I hope I’m in the next wave…
