Cisco is Fortune's number one company to work for. I wonder how laying off thousands of employees a few weeks before holidays fits into that narrative (which most of us know is artificially manufactured anyway). I'm sure the leadership will find a way to spin this as well to keep the crown for another year or two.

The narrative is simply not everyone deserves working for the best company.

Or, you could say that something's seriously broken in the entire economy (why wouldn't it be?), and it's only a matter of time before the other companies in the list start doing the same. Fortune is but a magazine no one is paying attention to, the reality is that the compliant masses have been injected with god-knows-what, a bunch of competent people quit or were eliminated, and the incompetent woke have been installed in their place. Inflation, war, and the rest are just consequences.
