Do we still get severance if we get a new role at Schwab after 1/5? It is weird that they almost punish you on severance of you go back to the Schwab.

@dcf+1pwdYhcP no one who got laid off asked for it. So yes, expecting the severance that they promised is perfectly reasonable. And they are essentially punishing laid off folks for coming back.
Amazing the number of people that want to “double dip” - they want their severance AND their job back. If you can manage to get an offer to come back then consider yourself damn fortunate, and sc--w the severance. You’re much better off with the job.
Thank you! This is helpful. So at best, if there’s no choice, it is better to go back after the end of the severance period. Not that I’d want to.
It is in the QA document. If I read this correctly, you'll have to repay the remaining severance. Let's say your severance is 4 months of your salary. If you take a job at Schwab in March, you'll be asked to repay 2 months of the severance. Not fun. That's how I understand it. In my view, just don't, I don't think it would be worth it. I am praying not to get a call from CS during the WARN period or after.
