Sales down like never before yet 30 billion over the start of covid. this 90 billion bubble in an multi decade old brand was never sustainable and stupid to think it was.

Any company trying to sustain covid numbers or grow beyond them is just not reality.

@vn I buy HEB chips. They are a better value than anything Frito makes. Frito bags are small, half filled with air and expensive, I guess they need to be expensive in order to support all the deadweight at their Palace in Plano.

@vn I started buying store brand as well. Party size is $4.99 for lays, store brand for the same size with more chips is $2.99
And Snyder are the best!

@w3 Compasity? That sounds like a highly cromulent word!

I'm especially interested in what if any plant closings ?
With sales being down like never before, is there truly a need for so many production facilities, running at limited compasity?
Unfortunately, it really doesn't make good business sense.

Rachel's internal email said we beat expectations for the 4th of July holiday but I bet the Q2 numbers will still show us to be 85-90% to PY! Time to burn the furniture, cancel training, restrict T&E to business critical, put all job reqs on hold and various other knee je-k reactions! End of the day until we give the consumer a good value to buy they are gone! I know I buy store brands now because you get more product for a cheaper price! Brand loyalty is a thing of the past and Snyder's just plain tastes better!

Small pockets of people in HR quietly laid off in Europe with less than usual severance packages in the last few weeks.
