Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

more evidence for next week?

heard it that random HR folks are being "tasked" with extra duties. Basically, answering questions and tickets employees have about "changes coming". they are getting some training on how to handle the questions this coming friday...

has anyone heard any additional info for next week? "take it of leave it" posters, you got any more news?

Yes I mean people leaders. Our Manager is pretty good at communicating when she will be out for a large block of time ahead of schedule but this came unexpected.

All of a sudden Managers in our ORG have a meeting this Friday, that will take them away for four hours.🧐

@ask+1p23QFBK whoa actually learned something! thats good to know.

so if they wanted to have it happen before the earnings call it would need to be this week. if HR folks are getting "trained" friday on handling questions regarding layoffs, wouldnt make sense to train them while it is happening..

more evidence mounts for the 17th

@nlu+1p23QFBK Earnings call must take place before market opens. Doing it Monday morning would already be “late” and no different than doing it on Tuesday.

does anyone know how you can actually attend the earnings call on monday?

17th keeps popping up. announce its happening on earnings call and pull the trigger the next day?

why not just do it monday morning, walk into that earnings call and go "guess who just saved a bunch of money by letting go a few thousand folks?!"

@glw+1p23QFBK might be numbers and orgs impacted..

its seemed pretty clear the HR folks will be handling very specific questions employees will have regarding them being impacted so.. whatever happens im sure there will be plenty of threads open come monday

This could also be a result of the earnings report on Monday. I have been told that additional information is going to be shared on Monday with employees as to the status of expense reduction.

@zet, actually there were few similar posts written within a couple of minutes. Judging by the writing style, it was just one sad pathetic little troll pretending to be multiple people.

"there were posts on here about contractors being notified today but have disappeared? "

No we just made it so you cannot see them

When I was laid off last October, documentation points all questions to HR Direct helpline or a HR Direct email address. Don’t bother asking your manager as they will either not reply or direct you to HR Direct.

If you haven’t done so, make sure you have updated any email addresses from Schwab to personal email.

Examples:

  1. . External access to external Workday view
  2. . ADP for year-end W2
  3. . Setting up access (issues) with Watson (external group where you can electronically view and sign severance and electronic versions of other documents.
  1. . Password resets,

Reorg will happen essentially at the same time, at least same day as the layoffs. Not sure about other departments but branch regions will definitely be having changes.

no just that HR folks are getting some form of "training" on friday. would assume they get it friday in prep for when it happens shortly after

@bfy+1p23QFBK implying some communication goes out Friday morning?

can confirm, HR is assisting. not with the action itself but theyll be answer questions people have and will be given what they can/cant answer this week (friday)

Wanda mentioned HR would be playing a role in this.

HR doesn't answer questions when you are let go - they have a separate group that will handle all the questions - not internal HR
