This site has lost all credibility based upon the number of posts it deletes.

Agree.
@1ffg, hi HR shill, having a slow day?
There is no “protection “ from the NLA or anyone else. This is a private site that is run for a profit. Advertisers actually pay to have pop up ads. The private owner can do anything they want with the posts. If you think you are protected or anonymous I have some Beach front property in B’ton to sell you. Don’t be naive.
If you post political content expect it to be deleted, Karen. This is a board to discuss State Farm-related issues.
I don’t think you realize how big this site is. Just one glance at the latest post section can tell you it has a bunch of other forums much busier than this ours, people criticizing their employers left and right and the only posts that get deleted are the ones containing insults and cursing.
I’m sure none of those employers mentioned is happy that this site exists. All of them would be thrilled to find a way to find out who is making all these comments.
Unfortunately for them, without a court order or subpoena there is no way for them to get those IPs from this or any other site similar to this one and the courts issue those only for major law violations (i.e. posting threats).
Not to mention that most of the work-related posts written here are not only legal but also protected by National Labor Act.
That’s all assuming all of us are smart enough not to post from a work computer/network on a company’s dime, that everyone knows that’s traceable and if they want they can terminate you for visiting even Facebook or theChive.
@1jju-there is zero chance of remaining 100% anonymous. Yes, VPNs are helpful from preventing others to access your data in public places. TOR is good at erasing your past browsing history but, once you connect with the site it becomes their history, not yours. Read the fine print on the site.
It's all about control and power over you. It's a losing battle because they will never be able to control your thoughts, your freewill, and your freedom.
@vgq, I’m writing this from Starbucks, who are they gonna terminate, the person who sits here right after me? What if I’m using public proxy or TOR, how are they gonna catch me?
Anything to do with politics deserves to be deleted. Wrong site for that.
There should probably be more posts removed. From a common decency standpoint, a lot is said on here that really doesn’t need to see the light of day.
They share the identity of the posts with SF. I know 2 people that have been terminated as a result of posts on this site. Post at your own risk.
It never had any credibility to begin with.
It must be in cahoots with various HR depts across the industry, who probably pay a small fee for ratting out malcontents (i.e., by providing their IP address and other data) and for "directing thought" (simply deleting inconvenient posts if everything else fails).
They do not get any revenue from advertising and such, so one must wonder where the money is coming from.
