Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Old McDonald had a farm.

In my 10 years at Oracle I often paused to think that Oracle was like a farm, where we were supposed to be milking the customers, but recently realized that the customer is not the cow. They are just the hay that feeds the true animals.

The cows, as it turns out are us!

Every quarter we are brought into the barn for processing. The managers use their special grip on our private parts and milk us for all we are worth, but you never know what they want. Sometimes we are asked for gallons of milk, sometimes they want butter, and other times they even want cheese. Whatever the product, milk, butter or cheese, it is the farmer that makes the money!

And when you don’t produce enough milk, it is off to the slaughterhouse for you!

If you want to know about how much of a farm the place is, just read about its history of buybacks.

Eventually you will be moved to the ‘Apps Unlimited Team’ which host once very succesfull products like Siebel and you spent your remaining days explaining junior sales the price list.

Oracle Apps is simply an IT investment fund. 10+ Aquisitions over the past 10 years in CX. All these producs (5B$+) are simply dead. No innivation and #customers declining YoY.

Thats what happened in the ECEMEA CX presales team. From the 30 people there are only 4 left. These poor four suckers if they don’t leave by them selves can start milk existing Eloqua, Responsys, Rightnow cutomers. Internally called ‘non strategic products’.
